About Elk Range:
| Big, beautiful, and rotten. The Maroon Bells and other peaks here are some of the most difficult and dangerous peaks in Colorado. The avalanche danger can also be extreme so this is a difficult winter area as well. Still, some classic technical rock routes on Capitol Peak and good couloirs on the Bells. |
