About Carter Lake:

Carter Lake is a vast bouldering area containing many good classic problems. This is an area that was popular in the 70s and 80s then lost popularity and was "re-discoverd" in about 1995 by a couple of Boulder locals. They went crazy adding a bunch of problems, many above V-5 creating some of the better hard problems of the state. HARD!! first ascents are still really possible out here and with Dave Graham going to college in boulder we may be seing them established. Come on out and enjoy the natural setting of it, with great views of Longs Peak and the front range all along side a beautiful reservoir this makes for a great afternoon of bouldering.

SEASON: Summer is too hot. Fall and Spring great while winter can be great if the sun is out.

FEES: Entrance fee is $6/vehicle. Season pass for this county park is pretty damn high: $60 for Larimer County residents and $70 for non-residents. CAMPING: electrical sites are $13 per night and non-electrical sites are $9 per night
