About Penitente Canyon:

High quality but short pocket routes offer loads of fun in this mysterious canyon. The bolted routes range in difficulty from 5.2 to 5.13c, and are less than vertical to only slightly overhanging... Home of the classic "Bullet the Blue Sky" Arete. Also has tons of promising completely undeveloped bouldering.

| Directions: | From Pueblo, CO take US 50 west to US 285 south towards Alamosa. Turn west on "G road" towards La Garita. In La Garita take County Road 38 west for a short mile to the canyon entrance. Turn west onto the bumpy dirt trail into the canyon. Campsites are $5 per night as of 16 June 2002. |
