About Presque Isle:

Presque Isle is a city park in Marquette. It is sort of an Island that juts out in to Lake Superior. It is approximately 2 miles around with great bouldering and a few places to climb. The most popular climbing route is called the Pinnacle. Be sure to be knowledgable about toprope setups for this route. You have to be creative with the anchors. It is approximately 80 feet tall with a flat face. It is rated at about a 5.10. The belayer sits only about 30 feet or so from the Lake. I haven't done much bouldering here, but have been told its pretty good. On a hot summer day, jumping in Lake Superior is pretty refreshing (be prepared though, its pretty cold!!). Presque Isle is a great place to go for swimming, walking, and picnicing also. Leave your dogs at home though, they aren't allowed in the park.
