About Green Mountain:

Green Mountain is made of a rock called Jadite in some areas it is very polished.
Nearest town or city: Fallon
Directions: Going East on Hwy 50 (Williams street in Fallon) through Fallon you’ll pass Fox Peak Station on your left (north side). All distances are from Fox Peak Station. 4.5 miles East you’ll pass Harmon Junction on your right. This is the last stop for beer. 9.8 miles is Grimes Point on your left. You’ll turn left here and stay on the dirt road going North East. The paved parking area is to view the archeological area of Grimes point. There is a nice trail that meanders through the boulders pointing out the many pictographs left by the Primitive Man that lived on the shores of lake that was here 10,000 years ago. Continue on dirt road, at 11.0 miles you’ll pass the last out house, this parking area is another Primitive Man cave. At 11.8 miles you’ll pass a sign “TCID Rock Pit” 100 yards past the sign is a fork in the road, stay on the left going east. At 12 miles is another fork, stay right. At 12.4 miles is a cattle guard There are several turn offs to the north along this road, ignore them, At 14.7 miles you’ll hit the gate of the Clay Mine and a sign that says Green mountain. Turn right. Follow the fence line almost to the end and turn right on to the obviously more traveled road. You can easily see Green Mountain, the only appreciable rock formation and it is green. Follow this road to base of Green Mountain, 15.7 miles, park any where and hike up trail to base of the rock.
