Description:

This impressive line is the first dihedral on the left of Mescalito that is visible as you approach from the east, it sits just to the left of Cookie Monster. Bring a 70m rope for this one if you can, but a 60m works out as well. P1: Start up the dihedral and do some route-finding to work out the easiest way to the tree about 60' up. P2: A rope stretcher! Follow the dihedral to the top, belay on a ledge on the west side of the buttress, 210'-220'. P3: Head up the crack system above the dihedral, heading left when the choice presents itself. 100' (Optional: If you have a 60m line, you can split P2 into two pitches by belaying in the obvious alcove about 120' up the pitch)

Descent Options:

Rappel Cat in the Hat with a single 60m or 70m line.

4 out of 5 stars Black Widow Hollow

I acutally misread the guide book, I was looking for Cookie monster, because the line was long on Cat in the Hat. Great fun climb though. Some of the rock was loose as I had a hold that almost broke off on the climb.
