About Cochiti Mesa:

Welded tuff rock (rhyolite). Sport climbing on pockets and edging on steep rock. Routes up to 80' long. Some very good cracks that take gear also located here. Popular areas are Eagle Canyon, Cochiti Mesa, Cacti Cliff, Diasease Wall.
Nearest town or city: Cochiti
Directions: From I-25 take the Cochiti Lake Recreation Area exits from either the north or south. Pass through town of Cochiti Lake. Pass the golf course (on NM 22) and take the first right on FR 289. Follow road 3.5 miles to Eagle canyon turn off (Next to Dome Wilderness Trail). Cochiti Mesa is another 1.1 mile further.
