About Dubois Rock (aka Turkey Foot):
| Dubois Rock (aka Turkey Foot, Turkey Path, Michael Jackson Crag) is a great crag just off of I80. Lots of bouldering and climbing with a wide range of difficulty on boulders and walls up to 50 feet high. It has seen off and on activity over the years, recently a few TR anchors have started to go in on top of a few big blocks that are impossible to protect. Stay aware for quads when either hiking or driving in on the jeep trail, they are the majority users of the area, but are usually not the daredevil type, more familys and old guys putting around. More than likely you'll have the climbing to yourself. Just a heads up, there is wild strawberries all thru the field! |

| Directions: | Take 219 N from Dubois, after you pass under I80 the road will narrow to a single lane each way. Look for a towing company on your right in a little over a mile, there will be a pull off and parking area on the left just past this. You can park here if you don't want to muddy and scratch your vehicle. If you got an AWD you can continue on 219 until just up the road you see a left. Take this, cross the tracks and head uphill, before you crest the top of the hill there will be a jeep trail on your left. Squeeze between the two rocks and continue on this rugged road until you come into a large field. Up to the left will be a large turkey foot print painted on a large boulder in the field. Continue on the road thru the field, crossing the powerline and passing a large roadside boulder. Not too far into the woods the road will bear left and there is a small pull off on your right. The rocks can be seen from here. If you don't want to brave the road and park across from the towing company you will want to cross the future rails to trails behind the parking area, ford the stream and bushwhack uphill to the RR tracks. Take the RR tracks right until you see a faint jeep/quad trail on your left heading up hill from the tracks. Make a left on to the active jeep trail and in short distance you will be to the field and can continue with the directions above. |

| Access Issues: | None at this time. While it is private property(a company), it has been abandoned essentially since the request to turn it into a landfill was rejected a long time ago. There are no signs posted or any restrictions on other activities observed. |
