About Lime Kiln Canyon:
| This is a new area under development 20 minutes south of Mesquite Nevada on BLM land (technically across the border into Arizona). Route development has been sporadic, but about 40 routes are now established, many of them being multipitch. This is a great place to climb in solitude and the rock is excellent. As more lines are established the climbing experience will get better and better. Some think that this climbing crag will become a significant area on the sport climbing circuit. The biggest drawback will be the deep shade and cold temperatures in the nadir of winter. Spring and fall offer ideal weather conditions. If you love to climb on limestone, you should check this place out. |
| Nearest town or city: | Mesquite |
| Directions: | In the city of Mesquite Nevada near the Casa Blanca Casino Resort, turn south on Riverside Drive. After crossing the bridge over the Virgin River immediately turn left onto a gravel road and drive about 9 miles south toward the Virgin Mountains into Lime Kiln Canyon. The crag will become obvious as you get closer. Shortly after passing a cattle water trough look for a small parking pull-out on the left. The road does get rough the last few miles, therefore, a high clearance vehicle is recommended. |
