About Bluff Street Cracks:

These climbs are on the prominent red sandstone cliffs above St. George on the north side. (As you drive north down Bluff Street the cliffs are very obvious on the right side and these climbs are further west on the ridge than Pioneer Park). Although there is one or two sport climbs bolted along the cliff band, most of the climbs are splitter cracks and dihedral cracks with top anchors for descending. These climbs are best done during cooler months, with a sunny winter day being the best bet. The cliff band faces south and southwest. The guide book lists the 5 best routes, however, there are more routes with rap anchors established along the cliff band. THE AREA IS CLOSED UNTIL THE END OF JULY 2006 BECAUSE OF RAPTOR NESTS THIS SEASON.

Directions: Find 400 west in St. George and drive north a few blocks and when the road ends at the base of the cliff....park on the left and follow the climber's trail up to the climbs.
