About Roped Climbing:

Only in the past few decades has WV become a destination state for climbers, but locals and regiona climbers have been coming here much longer. Most people used to think of Seneca Rocks when it comes to WV climbing, but the additions of the New River Gorge region, Morgantown's bouldering scene and many more areas scattered throughout make it obvious why this is called the Mountaineer State. In fact, many believe that, if West Virginia were a desert and you could see all the rock, you would come to realize that it has the densest population of crags in the East, save for perhaps Kentucky.

Some of the areas listed herein may be duplicates of areas found in the "Climbing Section. That's fine, but please DO NOT add roped routes to this section.

Moreover, if your descriptions of new areas, new locations and new routes are lacking, expect me to ask you to beef them up. If your descriptions need editing, expect me to just do it. Thank you, Editor
