Pampilla is a large city park that is part of the peninsula on which the city of Coquimbo is located. The area is due south of the large concrete cross that overlooks the city. The area is strewn with boulders of all sizes and shapes, most of them being made of a reddish yellow granite which makes for excellent climbing. The entire area can be driven thru and the boulders with routes can easily be identified because of the chalk stains, problem difficulties are painted on some of the rocks.
Area Resources: While nothing is available at the climbing area itself, nearly all services and supplies can be bought in Coquimbo, which is a short distance away. The surrounding neighborhoods can be a bit dangerous, exersize caution. Camping is not recommended on site.
