About Urlanta waterfalls:

Jalapa is located at aproximately 100kms from Guatemala city, its weather is fresh and has vestigious of volcanic activity as you will see rocks on the road, but unfortunately, buried so there are no big boulders, only small stones. Famous for it's mountains and waterfalls is a nice place to visit and climb, there are lots of places to walk and is very safe.
Nearest town or city: Japala city
Directions: Drive to Jalapa, is about 100km from Guatemala City. Take the road to Atlántico ("Carretera al Atlántico") and take a turn to your right in Sanarate, you will see the sign, you will get to a fork (kinda bad road) and take the one on your right again, this one will take you directly to Jalapa without crossing the town in Sanarate, this will save you lots of time. When you get to Jalapa, ask for the road to Paradise waterfalls or Urlanta's waterfalls, take the road, after 3 small bridges you will get to a small house on your left and you will see a blue sign "Bienvenidos, cataratas de Urlanta", ask for Freddy or Candelario or tell them that you are looking for rock climbing (if you get to paradise waterfalls you've gone too far (5 km far away). You can park there and walk about 8-10 minutes, take a road to your left and you'll hear the waterfalls, follow the trail and you will see crags. Be careful with loud noises as there are some bees over there.
