Snow Canyon State Park, a little west of St. George. There are some other cliffs in the St. George vicinity. Get the guidebook.

Zion has extremely few sport climbs. Most are located in the Kolob Canyons section of the park, which is no where near the main Zion Canyon.

Lots of sport around St. George, none around zions (at least not the main portion). Zions is a great place to go for hiking, sightseeing, long trad and aid climbs, but not a place for sport climbing.

As far as sport climbing around St. George, obviously you should pick up the guide, but here's a list of some of the more popular crags:

Chuckwalla wall: 3 minutes from the center of St. George, 30 second approach, probably 25 climbs from 5.9 to 5.13 on soft pocketed sandstone.

Black Rocks: 5 minutes from the center of St. George, 2 minute approach, 50ish climbs from 5.6 to 5.12 on basalt.

Green Valley Gap: 10 minutes from the center of St. George, 30 second approach, 50ish climbs from 5.easy to 5.12

Snow Canyon: 15 minutes from the center of St. George, approaches from 1 min to 1 hour, climbing of all types, single pitch sport, multi pitch sport and trad, whatever you want but nothing really above 5.12.

The Prophecy wall: 30 minutes from downtown st. george, 3 minute approach, multi pitch sandstone sport climbing mostly 5.10.

Virgin River Gorge: 30 minutes from downtown st. george, 10 minute approach, excelent limestone sport climbing from 5.10 to 5.14+, but you have to deal with the noisy freeway.

Gorilla cliffs: 40 minutes from downtown st. george, 2 minute approach, short limestone sport climbing from 5.10 to 5.14

Running Springs: 45 minutes from downtown st. george, 45 minute approach, awesome limestone sport climbing from 5.10 to 5.14+, some of the best limestone you'll ever climb.

Woodburry Road Crags: 50 minutes from downtown st. george, 30 second approach, sharp limestone sport climbing from 5.5 to 5.14.

The list just keeps going on and on, but these are some of the better areas. For more info check out mountainproject
