here is the email responce i recieved from
Jesse Shimrock of ASCI:
"Richard,
The event actually has been advertised. It is mentioned in our brochures
distribution of over 250,000. We mention it in radio ads. A full page
event ad was in this months issue of Rock and Ice. NE2C (New England
Climbing Consultants) have sent blasts and posters out to a ton of shops
and reps on the east coast. AS you may or may not know, our whitewater
course opened to the public this past weekend. Much of our marketing
dollars and efforts have been focused towards that naturally. The strong
push for this event has just begun.
I am not familiar with your organization or rc.com but I would love to
learn more and any help that you may be able to provide would be greatly
appreciated. You can reach me at or at the

ASCI Showdown
The ASCI Showdown and Invitational, held Saturday, June 30th, features
premier level competition in two exciting adventure sports diciplines,
rock climbing and freestyle kayaking.
In addition to competition between invited top ranked athletes, the
"showdown" allows recreational climbers and paddlers a shot at the big
league. The rock and water theme, combined with a festival atmosphere,
showcases two different sports to potentially diverse audiences.
The competition athletes will consist of 30 of the best Male and Female
competition climbers in the world and 15 of the nations top freestyle
kayakers. Join us on top of the mountain on June 30th for the most
exciting showdown of the summer!
