In reply to: My Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier now has 300,000 Ks on it. That's 186,411 miles for those that don't want to do the math. 1.60934 Kilometers per mile 300,000 divided by 1.60934 = 186,411.82 miles

Well, to breifly change the subject because those who don't know will get a kick out of it: Speaking of light speed. Do you know that the sunlight you see durning the day is about seven minutes old? That's 93,000,000 miles in seven minutes. Talk about getting travel miles!

In reply to: You're '69 Camaro had that many miles on it? Actually it is more of an estimate. I bought it from the original owner, and she said she thought the odometer had rolled over 3 times, so 300k, and then I drove it about a year and a half with a busted spedo cable (part of the damage from the electrical fire I had). The odometer reads almost 40k, so I think 350-360k would be a fair estimate. The engine is on it's second or third rebuild. It has been a daily driver from new, and I use it as my daily driver. I really should get rid of some of my cars, but I think the Mini and the Camaro will stay for a long time. I can't complain too much about a car I only paid $500 for in good running condition. :D

Yeah, I had the Chevelle and Vette for a long time. They were both original and in mint condition with low miles. Sold the Vette back to the original owner (not for much, either--couldn't rip off my best friend's father) and the Chevelle went to an old friend that said if I ever sell the Chevelle, to give him a call because he wouldn't mess it up and change anything. I miss the 375hp from the Chevelle and the 435hp from the Vette (yup, a 427 in that one). Okay, I'm going to cry now. Someone has a Saturn with 183k on it? How did that happen? Well, I guess every car company has it's lemons. Just so happens when a Saturn is a lemon, it works in a favorable way! I used to have an Alfa Romeo (Spider) that had 255,000 on it when it was sold (all original). It's still running.

300,000k is only 186,000 miles. And, it's a Toyota. Probably only one, Tim. Even the one that went 450,000k was proabably only one.

My last troop carrier went to 450,000. my poor landcruiser only made it to 150,000 (well, maybe 160,000, as I never adjusted the odometer for the larger tires). sad to see something die so young. it was like the Jimi Hendrix of 4x4's.        relish, folks. I don't post sad-faced smilies that frequently...

It`s a 92 model and it still has its original engine in it, Diesel of course. I did have to have the gearbox fixed when the 5th gear got a bit noisy. Same gear box though. My last troopy had to have another donk at about 380ks.

'98 Jeep Wrangler. Bought new, with 14 miles on it. This morning, it showed 112,999 when I pulled into the driveway. And nothing but oil changes, tube up twice a year, and a new set of tires. "It's not an SUV, it's a Jeep."

92 VW Passat G60 Syncro all wheel drive. 240 000Ks and still going strong, although the supercharger isn't pushing like it used to. The 4 wheel drive is rare as hell, and I believe you didn't even get it in the States at the time. Timstich, thought you drove a GTI 337? I'm dissapointed

97 Toyota Rav4 == 120,000+ and still going strong. The gas mileage is nowhere near what it once was (close to 400 miles on 12 gallons HWY, now she gets 300 on 12 gal HWY) but she is terrific. No major probs in 45,000 miles (*knocks on wood*). ;)
