Falling on the pad hurts way less than falling when your not prepaired, and then colliding with the rock below in a bad position!

Bouldering doesn't suck. That's what I would say. I don't boulder, but it doesn't suck.

Why even respond? If you must respond, try this: "Thank you, don't forget to wipe."

*Waht would you say to someone like this??? * When you're 40 and can barely walk anymore because your ankles are hammered from jumping off boulders, like mine are, you'll understand.

Bouldering sucks because you don't go anywhere. It's like camping in your backyard.

I've been Bouldering for 30 years, but also Big Walls, Trad Leads and Sport. But I've got to say; many big drops, tuckin' and rollin',Spine looks like an Accordion, lost fillings and such! Where were Pads in my day! I really LOVE my Pad and began to really love bouldering again, but suffice it to say that climbing with a rope is WAY safer, if that's what you're about. It's all up to you! P.S. I can say I DO like camping in my backyard, which is the monument! [ This Message was edited by: michaelpaul on 2003-02-14 20:35 ]

In my experience bouldering was the only way my climbing advanced by leaps and bounds. Gutting out hard moves on the sharp end was always a little eaiser after having done similar move just 5 ft off the deck.
