i've been experimenting with making protein smoothies and I'm still finding that the protein taste (I use unflavored whey protein from ALLTHEWHEY) is still a bit too overpowering. Has anyone got any really good recipes to share? If so, list below and include whether you're using SOY or WHEY protein (I'm curious if there's a taste difference). Thanks!

These all sound really good. I'll have to try them. But I have to admit the shake I have is a slice of heaven. I would take it over any desert. It's... Chocolate Protein (whey I think) 2 tbs of peanut butter. Banana some cranberry juice and crushed ice and if you want some oatmeal grain. You don't really taste the cranberry but it really stimulates the taste buds. The Peanut Butter is the best part. I swear by this shake

2 cups of Vanilla Silk 1 banana 1 strawberry yogart 1 scoop vanilla protien powder ...and Aklimerguy, you begging for a case of Salmonella eating raw eggs Bro. Years ago I used to put just the raw whites in my shakes as a source of protien. Well, I eventually got Salmonella, and after a week and a half of sh!ting blood and loosing around 15lbs, I realized it probably wasn't a good idea. Good luck to you though!

If you want your egg that badly, just buy egg-white protein (almost as good, plus you can add a lot more for less $). *A good generic filler for most shakes is powdered milk. You can thicken up any shake with a little bit of it. usmc, your shake is just like mine, 'cept for the cranberry. I might have to try that...

My smoothie recipe: OJ Banana Frozen Berries scoop of soy protien (Wild Oats generic brand) 1 packet of Emergen-C the smoothie's good and all, but what really gives me results is when I rub a good bit of "the cream" all over my back and arms, and then follow that up with an injection of HGH in my butt.

Some whey protein powder tastes much better than others! There was a brand that just got discontinued called Simply Whey which was great. Now I look for similar brands. I find chocolate the least offensive ... here's what goes into the ones I've liked: -real cocoa (not fake chocolate shite) -no artificial flavors -sweetened with Stevia instead of aspartame, sucralose, etc etc. (stevia is an amazing herb ... it's sweeter than sugar and has been shown to stabilize pancratic function. it's illegal to sell it as a sweetener in the U.S., thanks to lobbying by the chemical sweetener industry, but it's ok to sell as a supplement. And protein powder is considered a supplement) Here are the smoothies that work for me: For recovery from a strength workout-- -enough chocolate whey powder to equal 24grams or so protein -skim milk -a banana -ice -maybe a few drops of stevia extract for recovery from a long endurance workout-- -water -enough chocolate whey powder to give about 15 grams or so protein -2 servings of hammergel (tasty all-maltodextrin carb gel. orange flavor goes well with the chocolate) -ice -a few drops of stevia

I figure the 25lbs of muscle I gained was due to the soy protein... and don't forget the crucial packet of emergen-C! :)

I used to whip up a decent shake with the following: - 1 scoup whey protein powder (25g?), - 1/2 cup plain low-fat yoghurt, - 1 banana, - 1/4 cup each frozen blueberries/raspberries, - orange juice (or white grape juice). Yummers. DON'T USE SOY PROTEIN! Tastes nasty. It'll ruin any shake.
