Same look my daughter used to have when she was concentrating on filling her diaper.

Will, your comment shows classic British humor. Thanks for the laugh.

Always a pleasure Cindy. I am a strong believer in minimising waste, as reflected by my persistence in recycling the same old gags over and over again.

Looking for a partner to climb with out at Turkey Rocks and the South Platte Area.

I have been in Colorado Springs for a week and a half. So far it has been a blast. Everybody I have met has been great, but I NEED a local climbing parnter! I climb at the Sport Climbing Center during the week if you would rather climb there first.

PM me if you want to have a blast.

zozo,

If you want to go climb let me know (sport/trad - I don't care I just want to get out).

Anybody else out there want to climb?

I would kill for such a stellar climbing area (South Platte) so close. The closest rock in Walla Walla is 2 hours away. I routinley drive 3+ hours to do multi-pitch climbs in WA. 30 minutes is nothing!

Heading to the upper tiers of Avalon in Boulder Canyon tomorrow. Meet at the first pull out on the left if you're looking for a partner. Plan is to pile into one car and drive up the canyon.

Cindy and I climbed Extra Point on the Third Flatiron today. I had never seen the conga line up the East Face route, and it was indeed impressive. So we chose the right line no one was on. Two free soloists and at least 12 church camp climbers in ropes of three were on the standard route. There were also two girls, one of which turned out to be none other than Jeff Bevan's daughter Hallie. So we all chatted on the rappels and used our cell phones to exchange phone numbers, as neither of us had pen and paper. Despite the full sun, there was a surprisingly refreshing breeze that made the temps seem like the 70s. Very nice day.

Avalon today in BC, we've got 3 and would be interested in making an even number... you know like 4 or 12,608... Meetin' at the first pull out on the left at 10 am look for a blue dodge ram, Avalon is 8.2 miles up the canyon on the left side, hop rocks or ride the tyrolean across the creek, we'll be up on the second tier.

Farewell ukwill,

Until next summer, enjoy the smog, the surf and those pesky undergrads.

Had a great time on Culp Bossier yesterday, a fantastic route. The route finding isn't as bad as some of the reviews claim it too be. The rock is good and the approach and descent are minimal. Two biners up!

On another note, winter is on the way. It may not fell like it on the front range yet, but the high peaks had snow. It was cold and the leaves were changing colors. :D

Bye bye Wil. What a bummer. I never climbed with you and the only few times that I saw you I was blitzed and begging you to never stop talking to me with that beautimus accent of yours (meoooww). Best wishes to you in the land of the pretentious. Maybe we can climb if/when you come back.

I have to agree. Not once did I see Haille threaten to whip Laura in order to get her summit bonus and no pistols were produced to meanace the porters. Oh wait, that was on another summit in a past life. Sorry.

On that note, let us all convene this Wednesday the 21st after climbing for more beer and bla bla at the Dark Horse in Boulder around 8PM. Some of us will be venturing to the Boulder Rock Club around 5:30 PM for some plastic pulling and rope wrangling. It is a bit optimistic to expect being able to stay in the gym more than an hour, so I may gravitate to the beer much earlier.

I have to agree, of course - Hallie was superb and did wonders for reintroducing me to the sport after a year off. I look forward to testing my meagre capabilities in some of the canyon spots (as well as the BRC this Wednesday, pre-beer!)

And finally, farewell ukwill, though I havent met you! I have just returned from 10 years in London, and was looking forward to a bit of reminiscing - please say hello to my alma mater, USC, as you return to SoCal!

Aaww, how sweet, I love you guys...

Thanks to all of you for helping me to have such a great summer of drinking and climbing - I'm already looking forward to next May! In the meantime, if you're in California or Red Rocks then let me know.

It's torrential rain here in LA, so my plan to fly south and escape the winter has backfired somewhat. Bugger.

Jen, have a great birthday and enjoy being 25. Again.

Steve, keep your hands off Canadians, they're concentrated evil and they only want one thing.

Laura, as a UCLA graduate student I am afraid I shall have to continue to treat USC with righteous contempt it deserves.

But thankyou for the sentiment anyway, and have a great time in Boulder - you'll find it warmer than the Westway, (slightly) less crowded than the Castle, and less grungy than Mile End.
