I'd love to come out and join you all. I don't know if I'd make the trip in the summer though. I was in Rumney June two years ago and not only did it rain every afternoon (at least we had the mornings), but it was soooo humid the rest of the day, I thought I was going to slip off everything. And the mosquitos... . Camping by the river was awesome though!

Josh, shoulda been at the gathering a few years ago when the lady bugs were practically covering the parking lot wall. the feeling sorry for the cute lil things after you crunch a few and then it just gets annoying to have them buzzing around your head haha

Well, except for a few, late June looks like it would accommodate most schedules, so how about June 22nd --> 25th? Should be warm enough for the early morning climbers, wet enough for a huge bonfire and mud wrestling and far enough away to schedule it in. Say One, Say All?

your absolutely right Jake 21st is the summer solstice. I already told Alan I wouldn't be able to make this yrs. Ruckus. I have plans to do some ridiculous 27 pitch climb in Seattle with David. Hence I was looking for the longest day of the year to do so. I think, I'm going to need every moment of day light I can muster. hehehhe Mud wrestling ? Tempting, Very Tempting enjoy guys.

We'll miss you this year, Denny! Have an awesome time! The 22 - 25 is when Josh and I will celebrate our anniversary - so we'll be psyched to come and celebrate it with all of you! We may break off from Rumney at some point to celebrate in 'trad'itional anniversary style. Last year we were supposed to do Thin Air as our anniversay climb, but it rained. Then PHARMBOY went off and did the climb with my husband behind my back! Hopefully he's too busy being a new Daddy to go husband stealing this year. Home-wrecker!!! PS - When is fathers day? Is this fathers day weekend?

Fathers Day is the 17th. I'll warn Rich not to mention Thin Air around you . On the same note ... do it this year. I'm up for some nice trad myself! Maybe Cathedral or Cannon. Denny, what is the name of the area and route you are climbing? I heard there was the all day sport route on Mt Garfield called Infinite Bliss ... 23 pitches, but you hate sport. Well ... this is the weekend then. Agreed?

I'm so sorry Tiff. I made him do it. He really didn't want to. He kept saying, "no, we need to do some other climb, I promised my beautiful, loving, understanding wife, that I would climb Thin Air with her." Unfortunately I threw the gauntlet and told him he was just being a chicken! Now woman, you must understand that when one man throws down like that his buddy has to come through. It's a matter of pride and dignity. Thin Air is a great route... and make sure he takes you up Pine Tree Eliminate after too, that was an awesome finish to our day. I'm soooo looking forward to getting outside again and seeing you guys. Can't wait. So count us in on the Ruckus, we'll be there... baby and all.

I believe you're describing Infinite Bliss on Mt. Garfield. It was in R&I a ways back. There's quite a bit of controversy surrounding it. Have fun, but find a topo and take a hard look at it, because it definitely isn't just a sport route. Some unprotectable 4th and low 5th class stuff...

Ooooh...another Ruckus! Yes, count me in for the fun :) Although it was interesting trying to climb in the Meadows with sheets of rain pouring down, I hope this time it's at least dry! Any weekend in June works for me- see you all there! Alison
