In reply to: Sorry folks, I can't climb tonight afterall. I just realized that I need to be in line to watch superman tonight, and I wanna make sure I have enough time. 3.5 days till the sleep. How was it? I saw a mantinee of X-Men yesterday. When I left at 6 there was already a big line for the 10:30 Superman showing. I went home and made my tighty whitey's into tighty reddy's. Underwear does go outside the pants...

sorry kids, but it looks like i'mma have to bail on the wyoming trip this weekend. i've been working another job during the days, and it's a>kicking my ass, and b>putting lots more money into my bank account than i 've made in a long time... also, i've got some life crap to get in order, and this weekend is looking like a lifegettinginorder vortex at the cheese house. have fun, and if you/we go out tomorrow, i'll prolly see you there... josh.

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: second job = extra scratch second job = pro-deals on gear sport rack = looks nice and full; draws, slings, biners, new rope, etc... ice gear = new set of tools, working on screws, New L.S. EVO's trad rack = non existant, no cams, nor stoppers, nor hexes, etc... I'd like to start building a trad rack. SUGGEST AWAY:::: (keeping in mind most short term climbing will be in Colorado) One more thursday night of work, anyone up for climbing tomorrow? We're planning a late season alpine for the morning of the 4th and then BBQ & Beer afterwards, if anyone is interested.

Iz-ouch Gary, OK OK let me clarify on the "extra scratch" portion. I'm thinking more "a cam here a cam there", maybe a set of nuts, etc... Should I start at one end of the cam spectrum and buy my way through? Start with a set of hex/nutz/stopper/etc... to get the trad ball rolling? All of the C4's? Any particular sizes to immediately double up on?

In reply to: You know some stuff came up and I think I am going to have to bail too... Yeah....right... I am horrified by the shameless bailing and blaggardyness on display here. No-one's life is more f---ed up than mine but I'm still going, straight from the airport with jetlag to boot. (OK, it's only a one hour time difference, but even small changes in my schedule can throw into disarray the fine caffeine/alcohol input balance on which I sustain myself). What's more, I've had to book a flight that coincides with England's Quarter Final game  AND, in the unlikely event that we beat Portugal, I'll be in the middle of Po-Dunk nowhere when England would play The Boche on the 40th anniversary of our beating them in the World Cup Final.  :!: That's high-treason for an Englishman, like drinking hard-lemonade or urinating on one of Her Majesty's corgis. I've also had to tell my new boss at 'The House on the Hill' that I'll be turning up to work a week late, but hey, if you pay someone a virtual wage you can only expect a virtual employee. (Ps, does anyone now if you get shortwave radio reception in TenSleep - help me BBC World Service, you're my only hope).

Any particular sizes to immediately double up on? 1's and 2's always seem to be handy. TCU's of any size are useful. A set of nutz is relatively cheap. In reality it's hard to go piecemeal. Start building it, whatever you buy you'll need, but your not going to do many trad routes with a set of nutz and two cams. The only bit of advice is you probalby won't need anything bigger than number 4 cam (unless you go to the Voo a lot).
