My weekend plans got messed up (AGAIN), but I'm heading to DL on sunday night, and staying until Wed. Not sure where I'm staying yet since I'm going with someone else. Maybe I'll look around for y'all on sunday night or monday if anyone is still around.. I'm finally gettin a start on some leading - yay - finally get to hop on the sharp end! Hopefully it'll stay nice n dry, I don't wanna put my nuts in a wet crack for my first time :lol:

Alright for this weekend, if you're staying at green valley, and you're coming in late or something, its not a big deal she turns her buzzer thing off. we're the last campsite in the field. I have a green dakota look for that. Ramyson I might be down with some bouldering I'll let you know this afternoon. My number is 262 391-5389. About RRG, I think staying at Miguels would be a better idea, just because of the money issue. If we get like 15 people to go to a cabin then its 10 each, but its nice to crash where the party is. We can figure that out this weekend. Ok lunch break is over got to run. I'll be back later. See you guys this weekend

Okay so I'm still kind of up in the air about this weekend...boating or climbing????? Well so far I haven't heard form the boater so it's looking like I'll finally meet most of you. I should be heading up with Organic...guess it depends on work! Oh what will I do?

Roctoberfest Weekend:
Friday I will be heading out around noon after class. I will then proceed to Lexington for the night to drink beerz and join in on the Anniversary Party. Saturday morning I will meet some folk either @ Miguels or @ the crag. Saturday night I'll probably find a flat spot in the yard somewhere @ Miguel's. Sunday, climb climb climb drive drive drive.
So far, no one has reserved their seat on the space shuttle to hell. If you are needing a ride I will have ONE open seat in the passenger side of my truck. Your (as well as mine) gear will be placed in the bed of my truck so yes, if we do not get a tent set up in time or are on the road and it rains our stuff will be wet. If you are interested please apply here if A) you are not a freakin weirdo B) if you can split gas/beer money.

My fellow peeps, I just want to take the time to thank ALL those who have made this thread a success. My baby is prosperous. This thread is exactly what I was hoping it would be: a place for midwesterners to coordinate events and to get to know each other. I hope new people will jump in as well. I'm still in want to meet quick-clips, sonus, and who ever I don't know.
Well, I went to J-Falls on the 17th and 18th. It sucked because the topos we got from the internet were horrible. Jenna and I almost got lost. We also heard coyotes. We tried to lead one route but got stuck in the middle of it because without a good guide, we didn't know what any of the routes were rated.
I hope everyone had fun up in DL. I'm sorry I couldn't make it up there and meet the new peeps.
I start at the Glenview Galyans on Monday and we open on Oct. 10th. I know all of you will be partying at Rock-fest then but do come by and visit poor ole Mowz afterwards.
andy_lemon: if you read this, how can I secure the J-Falls guide? I hear it's tentative release is in January.

No need to secure a guide... there will be about 50 in every store, I'm sure of it. If you are still wanting to secure a guide due to insecurity in our consumer friends then I would have only one suggestion... reserve your guide through your local retailer. I guess you could always give Mr. Ulner a call.
If you would like a tour of J-falls without getting lost please feel free to hook up with me and my friends. Our next trip to J-falls will probably be November.

Bertman, yo. I'm glad that you could join us! It's never too late to make new climbing peeps. Um, that came out wrong, but I dont' care because the Cubs won today. Yea, you heard me. GO CUBS!!!!! Anyways. Rocktoberfest is Oct. 10th and 11th, though I'm sure Miguels will be packed by Thursday night if not the afternoon. So get there early and hook up with all the peeps you meet here. Try to reserve a plot of land. Ok.
Well, no new updates for this week. Starting to put the wall together at Galyans tomorrow.

Just want to re-establish the plans for Organic, Mowz, and Sportster. Are we heading down Friday morn or eve???? Also I have a fall break coming up the weekend before rocktoberfest, kind of a bummer it didn't fall on the rocktober fest dates but hey, what can I do???
put the wood in the trunk and you can really impress people when it is raining on the fire, right Mowz!! :)

Well well...I won't be heading down till about 3pm Chicago time eta...10pm??? Although my uncle lives an hour from the Red so I might just crash there Friday. I don't want to drive alone sooooooo????

WOW, what an incredible weekend for those of you who missed it I feel sorry! We climbed a ton on saturday up at the Lake and tore it up then we went bouldering from about 6:30 till dark over at the North Shore and had a great time. Then we went to Hooty's and had some dinner and beer and when we arrived back at the green valley there were 10 people at our campsite around the fire! We had lots of beer and all together around 20 people it was amazing we laughed a lot, sang some Pink Floyd and just had a great time. Sorry to all who couldn't make it we have some pictures to show off that should be online soon! Incredible weekend!!

ok so i guess i missed a lot by not going to the lake this weekend, thats no sleep for me tonight. For those that went, good for you.
As for Rocktoberfest oct 10-11, im guessing that we are waiting for orgainic on friday night, man you are going to have to drive. but I think that maybe someone on this post that is going to be there before us could save us a little plot of land for a tent. Come on people we are all climbers here :D
Anyways, Ericka why dont you drive down with organic and meet us.
Quickclips if you still need a place to crash on Th night on your way down let me know. If not see if you can save us some land at miguels, and bring some beer.

I will be climbing at Devils Lake for my last time October 25th. We'll be camping there the 24th. I'm moving to Australia for good November 1st. We looking at it as a going away party. Anyone wanting to climb is more than welcome. Hope to see people there

I will probably be headed back up to Devil's Lake, Oct. 25th and 26th with my girlfriend and I think quickclips will be there also, I need Dan to come so he can take me to the secret bouldering spots!! BOOYAH! My plans for rocktoberfest are starting to lean towards the negative end. Because of school and the chicago marathon(my girlfriend is running in it) and money but we will see. Don't count me out just yet.
