There is definatly a preverse attraction to feeling the urge to yank on those things  Tell me that you can see a dude with a chain going from his nose to his ear and not have an impulse thought about yanking on it  especialy if he has a bunch of Violent tatoos

I have none but, I climb with a few ladies who have belly piercings. It only took one time on TR for one belly piercing to get caught on one harness while lowering before they all decided to not have their belly buttons stretched further than intended.

Did ya ever see what happens to a pierced belly button when said belly is 6-7 months into a pregnancy?

Friend had a belly button piercing. She got pregnant. When she was quite far along (i.e., large) she removed the jewelry. Nonetheless, the site of the piercing split open and looked like a taco (her words).

Maybe it's just the way I wear my harness, but I've never had problems with my belly button ring while climbing.

Now: Cue people mocking me because I'm a guy with a belly button ring. But please, be original at least! (That means you can't tell me that I'm gay, weird, or stupid.)

i have a barbell in my belly button and a teeny tiny stud in my nose, and i've never had a problem with either getting caught on anything, climbing or otherwise.

i guess there's a first time for everything, but i'd rather not think catastrophically.

I saw a kid about 14? in the mid nintys. He had a foot long 1/2In. diameter juggeling stick through his nose. I seriously doubt that he was motovated enough to be a climber but the implications of trying to get up a squeeze chimny with that modification are definatly not for the weak stomach

Tradman..... Get over yourself. I have 3 piercings in each ear, all small studs, and a nose piercing-not a ring but a small diamond. Mine has never been infected, is not red, looks like normal skin, and my own grandma thinks it's cute and she's 75- that must be close to your age  .

Sheveti. It sounds like you are pretty maine stream with just a few earings and one hole in your nose. No biggi but chances are that unless you are one of the chosen few golden children that can get away with just about anything you would look better without that hole in your nose. in fact i bet grammy is just being nice when she tells you how good it looks  Old people do that sometimes when they arn't flaming your ass on the internet  i seriously did see a young kid with a foot long juggleing stick through his nose  Big old leather knots on the ends. and fake dreds. another time i ran into a guy with six barbells through his toung. thats fine and all that shit untill you loose your day job cooking meth and need to get a cleaner gig that dosen't attract jonny law and mess up your parole :?

Climbing up a chimney with a juggling stick in your nose... maybe he was smart...? I mean, why bother even looking for a rest spot if you can jam your nose up somewhere and full body rest??

I've never heard any horror stories about rings through soft flesh (belly buttons, ear lobes, etc.), but I work with a guy who had his finger stripped to the bone when climbing with a wedding band. I was climbing today and noticed that I got a much better grip on a crack with my left hand than with my right. Then I realized that it was wedding ring that was providing the purchase, not my finger. I put that thing on a biner in no time. (Hint- unless your spouse is with you, put wedding rings on locking biners. Thank god my wife was with me the two times I lost my wedding ring!!)

If you are a serious climber you should probobly put the wedding ring on assesory cord arround your neck. make shure that the cord is too small to go over your head and tie it with a doubble fishermans.

I have both nipples pierced and my belly button and I climb 3 to 4 days a week, but rarely if ever on TR. I have only had one bad experience and I didn't even know that it happened but when i came down one of my nipple loops had been twisted and tweaked into some demented design. I never felt it and didn't know it until the end of the day when someone else pointed it out. I am very glad I didn't feel it. I now have taken out the loops for climbing season and just use a straight bar with balls on each end. This seems to lower the profile and keep them safe. I also have the loop in the bellybutton and it gets caught on the harness sometimes but never had anything bad happen.

keep your piercings.......I know........
I LIKE MY WOMEN PIERCED!!!!!!!

Anyone ever had an accident with a piercing while climbing?? Obviously big earrings or eyebrows could be yanked out by the rope, and I know of at least 1 case of a navel piercing being torn out by the harness when falling...
Pierced or not, post your experiences (or those of a friend of a friend of a girl you once talked to) or just feel free to rant about what you think about metal in your body blended with climbing.

Get posts...don't use rings.
