Lord, I was born a ramblin man.... usually the allman brothers do it for me. Nothin like a soft guitar to get you pumped to pull plastic and smear on painted wood.

At my wall we always have music playing, it's one of the first things we do- we plug in the speakers and an Ipod then roll out the mats... As far as content, anything goes, except for country and excessive rap, but that goes without saying. Big fan of some Incubus to get going, with a bit more intense stuff for the actual bouldering and then a cool down lap of Marley and finally some sitting time with Jack Johnson. You really can't argue with that lineup, try it sometime.

At the gym I go to they play alot of electronic indie stuff. "Boards of Canada" is the name of the band, I think. Whatever it is, it is good for climbing, makes even warmups feel like you have the spotlight on you in some super cool bouldering video

Green Day and U2 help get the blood flowing. Sometimes I'll tune into some hip-hop, depending on my mood.

At the gym, this reggae version of John Denvers' "Country Roads" was playing. Now THAT was strange.

Motorhead, Peaches, Monkey Mafia, No means No, Primal Scream, Mogwai, old Ice Cube, N.W.A., Clutch, Black Sabbath, Zombie Nation, The Ramones, Steel Pulse, Gregory Isaacs, Doctor Octagon, and the Pixies are some of the bands that get me stoked about bouldering indoors. There are many more, but these are what I have been playing in our gym lately (depending on the crowd of course).

LMAO!

That's by Toots and the Maytals, a ska band from the '60s and '70s. They wrote the song, then John Denver just covered it and changed some of the lyrics from "West Jamaica" to "West Virginia"

the more you know...

something like some HIM is good for easier days and something alot heavier and faster for hard send days like slayer, himsa, arch enemy, metallica, pantera. or sometimes just some fun stuff like bloc party, cky, THE VINES. yes the vines. they get you in the mood with Ride.
