Oh the humanity!!!

Your punishment in life is having to live inside your skin!

From where I sit, that's a pretty sweet deal. Some punishment.

Bob,
Do you cry yourself to sleep at night, worrying about the fate of this country?

Thorne,

This is by far the most unenlightened thing that I have ever heard you say. I really hope the day doesn't arrive when this statement can be rubbed in your face.

How is it unenlightened?

Did I hit a nerve?

Would it have been more accurate to direct the question to you?

If you have proof that the president purposely lied please bring it forth. It will make you famous. Otherwise you're simply another Michael Moore wannabe only more obnoxious and shrill, if that's possible.

There was a frontline show on this. The President knew the problems with the intel, he chose not to share those doubts, and he and his staff made the case as if there were no doubts. That is a lie.

To hear it from you , the evidence is cut and dried. Explain why there haven't been any congressional hearings into this matter. Or were there hearings and I just missed it? Yeah. Maybe that's it.

It turns out there have been investigations.
In reply to:
Exhaustive and authoritative examinations of the prewar intelligence, by the bipartisan report of the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2004, by the Silberman-Robb Commission in 2005 and by the British commission headed by Lord Butler, have established that U.S. intelligence agencies, and the intelligence organizations of leading countries like Britain, France and Germany, believed that Saddam Hussein's regime was in possession of or developing weapons of mass destruction -- chemical and biological weapons, which the regime had used before, and nuclear weapons, which it was working on in the 1980s.

To the charges that Bush "cherry-picked" intelligence, the commission co-chaired by former Democratic Sen. Charles Robb found that the intelligence available to Bush but not to Congress was even more alarming than the intelligence Congress had.

The Silberman-Robb panel also concluded, after a detailed investigation, that in no instance did Bush administration authorities pressure intelligence officials to alter their findings.

Unlike you, I don't need someone else to tell me what I should think. I can look at the facts for myself and judge. There are known facts, information in the public domain, about what this Administration did to and with the intel. They gamed the system. They aligned the motivation on the front end of the intel process with their policy, and they cherry-picked on the back end.

Let me ask you this. If the intel that the President received contained many doubts about Iraq and WMD's, and the President conveyed none of those doubts, but instead conveyed only the parts that supported his policy, would you consider that a lie?

I’m talking about paying taxes and the obligation I feel to give back to my country.

Really? If only. If only your words didn’t get in the way, eh?

Well, Littlepedro, let’s look at precisely what you said, not what you’d now like to maintain that you meant...

In paragraph one, you clearly state that what you pay is what you owe. Paying what you owe for something is hardly “giving back” anything is it, Einstein? To state that paying something that you owe is the same as volunteering years of your life in service to your country is vulgar at best, but you’ve once again had the unbridled stupidity to use that as your defense.

In paragraph two, you openly admit that you get “stuff” for your taxes. Put another way, you’ve simply made a purchase; that you could equate that to “serving” one’s country is again, vulgar at best. Wrong again, asshole.

In paragraph three, second sentence, for example, you state that in return for your money you get lower crime; once again you outline what is in your own words a purchase of things that you desire…hardly a sacrifice is it; let alone the sacrifice that our service men and women make that at times, includes surrendering their lives.

The rest is more of the same and precisely what I have said…an outline that you simply pay your taxes like everyone else and get something in return, like everyone else.

But the last line is the capper, Littlepedro. Here you reveal your innate intellectual inbreeding and arrogance…

After having outlined in detail all that you get for paying your owed taxes, you have the balls to go on to state that paying what you OWE is somehow “patriotic” and you then go all the way to equate it directly with “serving your country.” Well, isn’t that just precious? As if you had any choice in the matter of paying your owed taxes, you jackass; what could be more commonplace than paying one’s owed taxes??? Yet you call that "patriotic" and equate it to "serving one's country" and you do all of this when our men and women are putting their lives on the line and dying.

Your words, Littlepedro, not mine. And you have the balls to say it’s a lie to point out your twisted ignorance?

My truth about you thus revealed, your arrogance redundantly and clearly outlined in black and white using your own words…and all of it only overshadowed by your stupidity in exhibiting your slimy vulgarity on this board when posting it once again for all to see.

I am not prepared (at this time) to claim that GWB deliberately lied to the American people because that has not yet been proven to my satisfaction.

While I disagree with your previous choice of words, I respect and concur with the above.

In reply to:
However, it is abundantly clear that GWB did not accept intelligence that ran contrary to his administration's foregone conclusions about Iraq and WMDs--and that his administration punished those (Wilson) who aired opinions that were at odds with what GWB & Co. wanted to believe.

Point taken.

Good question, Dano. Have you served, or are you completely delusional?

Put a pic in your profile, some background info, and a state.

Yes Danoo.

Unless you post a complete personal profile including political affiliations, religious beliefs, inside leg measurement and genital dimensions, it's perfectly legitimate for rufus to completely ignore any point you make, however valid.

I mean come on mate, how do you expect rufus to put together a decent ad hominem if you won't even post a pic?
