I have been vegetarian for about 6 years, if it was not for eggs I eat a couple times a week i guess i would be vegan, no cheese or dairy either. I take as vegan multi vitamin and flax seed oil daily. For breakfast I have either a bowl of organic cereal with a rice cake and almond butter or eggs. We cook food a lot with tofu or saitan most nites or indian food, maybe tomato pie. I usually have leftovers for lunch at work.....while climbing I like cliff or coconut bars from Okaski Organics (I think), also Cliffshots and Peta sells good vegan jerky...I also take 4 Kyolic Garlic capsules a day, good for heart and blood pressure. I normally also have 2 or 3 fruits a day and a salad a nite with a bit of baked seeweed and spirulina....al

Ya know, I was thinking... Why not take the cholesterol pill and eat meat? Forgive me ignorance as I'm sure there is some "possible" side effects that I'm not aware of, but if they don't happen with you your probably delaying the inevitable. Chances are I'm going to be on the cholesterol pill sooner or later(thanks for the genes, dad...) If insurance is paying for it, thats probably what I would do. I'm happy with my greasy, animal killing, consumer ways though...
I'm also one of those firm believers that not everyone can be a healthy vegan. While it may work for some, a friend of mine tried it for like a month before he got malnutrition and the doc told him to start eating the meat again.

If "you are what you eat" then what would you rather be, a nut or a fruit.

While vegans claim to get everything that they need in vegan food, then where do you get amino acids?

Someone please tell me what there is to feel "guilty" about. After all, all those fruits and veggies have souls too

Animal cruelty aside, livestock farming is incredibly wasteful. On average, it takes something like 6 lb of feed to get 1 pound of meat. Fossil fuels are used much more heavily in many animal farming practices than veggy. Land usage is also quite high for animal farming and animals are really hard on the land. cows and sheep cause the land to erode, manure and fertilizer run off into waterways and kill off almost all life(there is a huge "dead zone" at the end of the miss. river partly because of this), and nonnative species are spread because of livestock. Overall, cows, sheep, pigs, and chicken are bad news for the environment. Think about it: if you are a vegan, you are simply eating lower on the food chain and basically eating what would otherwise be feeding your food. I personally dont think there is anything wrong with eating meat, just our farm practices. I think that everybody should own a hunting bow and go out on the weekends to hunt for their meat. At this point, deer have few natural predators and so this would help balance out the food chain.

i eat meat and i am disgusted/appaled at all the dorks trying to convince others to eat it.

to be honest, i'm not particularly proud of eating meat. i only do free range/organic - and grass fed beef once a month. i feel better, including my skin which i had had real problems with while a veg. it is hard to be a healthy veg. it is a lot of work and dedication.

mad props to all the veggies!

You definitely need to try Monavie active. It has 19 fruits combined in one and it has given me an incredible amount of energy in a month that I have been drinking it. It also reduces joint pain and inflammation.

Good luck and good health,

Holy resurrection Batman.

Reviving a 4 month old thread to push your wares? I don't know man, that seems a little desperate to me.
