On the flip side, I work at a gear shop, and i have been scared shitless by the questions (or lack of questions) asked by people who really should no be climbing on their own yet... one kid came in for some cord for a prussic, and not knowing how long he wanted it, i asked him what he was using it for... "oh, just belaying from above"...my interest piqued, i asked him what kind of device he was belaying off of, thinking some sort of guide or reverso..."no, i'm using the prussic"... so at this point, i'm confused, and the kid keeps going how he's going to rappell down this cliff just on a prussic, which i guess is doable but not ideal, then belay himself up, then somehow belay up the second on a prussic..?..i don't doubt this is doable, but this kid kept avoiding my questions about where he was going and with who, and his mom was right there and could see how clearly uncomfortable i was...in the back of my head i did the whole "if this was MY kid...." anyway, it's not easy being the sales person either...i bet some of you guys are those d-bags we talk about in the back room... ;)

In reply to: ...i bet some of you guys are those d-bags we talk about in the back room... ;) No doubt. The thing that these stories have in common is the degree of noobness of all the "dumb" people in them. And we all know too well that we've all been the noob.
