Oh so you're trying this topic over here now, did they run you off of Supertopo or something? Can I call it the Sandbox for now on instead of JT, JTree, Josh or what ever anyone else wants to call it? They call the Valley the Ditch, I think we need a new nick name name for JTree (notice I said JTree just to drive you nuts?), the Sandbox has a nice ring to it. Anyone else got any suggestions?

In reply to: In reply to: Overrated Poseur Dirtbag Magnet Meth Lab With s--- Restaurants I take offense to the above remark... Sammy's Pizza and Indian is actually good stuff. (most of the other establishments nearby are fairly wretched) I like breakfast at the Crossroads. Good breakfast sandwiches, good coffee, and Guinness on tap.

I think someone forgot his meds. Or perhaps he was just trippin on some of that sweet sweet meth Josh has to offer. As for names, just to piss everyone off and confuse things a little more, I suggest either El Cap or Yosemite for the new name for JTree.

Nobody gives a crap about your silly dummy domes, biatch. Being a "local" at Chossua Tree just means you've spent all your money on crack and can't go somewhere decent, like New Jack. Go back to begging for change at the Circle K.

New Jack is better than JT? WTF are you talking about......NJC is a fucking pile of shit in Barstow (which is another pile of shit). Although I do climb there too. :P I agree with thomas - most type it JT. But at least for me, I say Joshua Tree when referring to it verbally. MOWZ can we get some more pics? Pretty please

There's not that much good, hard, climbing at the dummy domes. If you're talking about good climbing, New Jack, the Quarry, places like that are where you want to go.

It's hard to get both at the same crag. Ok, maybe Echo Cliffs, but it's almost always too hot there. Jay

In reply to: In reply to: : I've called it The Monument.... there you have it. the only haters of Josh/J-tree are one-dimensional sport fools. And the lovers? They use tape condoms that would shame a prize fighter. Carrying multiple 4" pieces doesn't give you the right to claim you've got 8" ( or god forbid 12" ). Leave it to the Morlocks from the Wasteland to claim, " I put 4 pieces in that 3 feet, 'cause 3 of them were aliens and I didn't trust them." I bet you stand on top of Intersection and say things like, "Back when I started climbing here, the road went on *that* side". I mean, any good sport climber could just walk into Josh and climb everything worth climbing in a couple of days.

According to wikipedia: A teardrop under one eye may mean that the wearer has killed someone, or lost a loved one as part of gang rivalry. Three dots in a triangular configuration on the wrist, on the side of one finger, between the thumb and pointer finger, or next to one eye signifies "mi vida loca" ("my crazy life"). Think Ricky Martin. JTclit is not to be messed with. If you see him coming, hide your draws, pads, fleece and nalgene. Do not make eye contact. Be sure to refer to Jtree as "jt". If requested to belay, wait for crux/top out before removing atc followed by firm short rope. Then run.

ahahahahahahah, quickdraws? what the hell? i always assumed most (insert prefered name of Joshua Tree here) locals would be more of trad rats than sport climbers. by the way, on your profile it says your location is Joshua Tree, shouldn't it say JT? just a thought. thanks for making my day better, this thread/post/mindless troll/whatever the hell it may be has brought much laughter to my day.

In reply to: In reply to: I mean, any good sport climber could just walk into Josh and climb everything worth climbing in a couple of days. maybe yuji hirayama i think New JacK City has a lot of ambiance........just not on the weekend. anybody dissing has, of course, flashed Spider Line  Oh please... Sport Climbing *starts* at 5.12. If you put Spiderline on top of the Beaver, then you might have something. The real reason no decent sport climber spends time at JT is the good routes are too far from the car.
In reply to: and runs laps on the Beaver with minimal gear. See, this is the reason why traddies never get any good. They have to *try* and use minimal gear, rather than be limited to the bolts they are given. The Beaver would make an OK sport route with maybe 5 bolts... pretty short though. That's a good idea jcrew.

In reply to: How about just "Yo" for the big climbing mecca out in CA? I guess that makes me an "anti-semite" Holy shit! I've been cracking up at this thread for days, but totally missed this gem. I'm forwarding this to Emily Cox. Jay

In reply to: In reply to: "Too easy to matter." That was exquisite. Jay Thanks Jay... Plus hearing the truth from me adds a certain something, don't you think? Yes. Now that you've gotten your pic in the new J Tree guidebook you can finally speak your mind. Jay
