I'm beginning to enjoy your company on here more and more. It's nice to see there are actually other sane people hidden amongst this place.

decorator_crab wrote: slablizard wrote: tz! You're not even a real crab [image]http://www.divegallery.com/deco-crab.jpg[/image] This small cryptic-looking "decorator crab" appears to have mastered the art of disguise by attaching various anemones and coral polyps to its exoskeleton. Notice its greenish-colored eye at the end of its eye stalk (view of the crab's left side). A slow mover, even when approached, it seems to have complete confidence in its ability to remain inconspicuous. This particular specimen is about 1 inch in height. The alternate black and white bands on its legs distinguish this decorator crab from other, similar species. The term decorator crab is loosely applied to a variety of true crabs which use various materials from their surroundings to disguise themselves. A "true crab" is different from other, similar crustaceans such as hermit crabs (despite the name hermits are not true crabs), lobsters, and crayfish-- in true crabs the skeletal plate above the mouth is fused to the carapace. There are about 4,500 species of true crabs, ranging in size from one-tenth of an inch to over 12 feet in diameter. Crabs are crustaceans (along with crayfish and lobsters). All the crabs shown here are small in size, about an inch across. Identification: Cyclocoeloma tuberculata Well that is just wonderful. Congratulations. Here is a tick of mine you can compare against your own list: Loose Lady. 5.9, onsight. But my memory is a little fuzzy... did you at least try the route, and fall? Or did you take at a bolt, and lower with your tail between your legs like a real tough guy with a list of hard redpoints? Oh yeah. n00bs, no big groups!

decorator_crab wrote: Climbing is not a team sport. It is an outlet for people who get grumpy in the presence of large groups. When you show up to the crag with more than 4 people, it is RUDE. That's right. Just by being there with your group, you are being an ASSHOLE. Smile all you want, it makes no difference. These group trips where you all laugh and have fun, they are not about climbing. They are about your stupid group, with a little climbing sideshow. The rest of us aren't interested in your toprope wanking, or the Bold Leader of your group who strings up topropes on those .10c's much to the joy and admiration of the rest of you. Stop doing multipitches with more than two people. A party of three is lame enough, and a party with more that three... well, I don't even know what to say about that it is so stupid. The only groups that roll so deep are nothing but the rankest beginners, who just seem to feed off each other's enthusiasm and ignorance. Look around next time. You won't see anyone who knows what they were doing in a big group. Climbing is not a social sport. There should be two of you, and half the time you are separated by half a rope, and one of you is focused on climbing, the other on belaying. I only bring this up because of a thread I read this morning about a pack of n00bs taking over all the climbs on a cliff. That is inexcusable. Fortunately it only happens at shitty crags. If you want to have your group parties, either go to the gym or go to the beach and play volleyball. Your large climbing group is offensive to everyone else at the crag. Climbing is not a team sport. Very well said.Have you ever noticed that these same groups every one in the party has a FULL rack of new shiny gear and they are top ropeing the easist routes at the cilff ????????WTF

Why don't you just poke your head back into the sand, since you do have some of that in florida, and keep pretending that you're a rock climber.

Come on, crewdude, just because you subscribed to a sport where guys line up behind each other and stroke on cue doesn't mean you have to hate on brothers who choose a (straight) man's sport. Stop hatin'. And move out of Florida. Any state where a manatee corpse is the closest bouldering sucks.

It is harder than climbing, its a fact... and yea, I'll just drop out of college and then move to wherever... I can pay for everything using all that money I have as a college student... nah, I'd rather climb on the side of becoming a doctor... And ya'll can diss florida as much as you want because I hate how hot it is and how there aren't any walls, go for it... I was just born here, can't help it...

If you think pulling on an oar with some midget hollering at you is harder than climbing, you might as well admit that you don't know jack about climbing. But we already knew that! There are no rocks where you live. Excuse me, there are no walls where you live. The gym doesn't count, sorry. Oh, and you already quit crew! that is sad. But I am confident you will quit climbing as well, not that you ever reall started. Are we supposed to be impressed by this talk of a college student who hopes to become a doctor? It isn't working. But I hope that pans out better for you than your climbing career.
