I was on crutches, but had the state championship dive meet. I was too stubborn to sit it out. My dad filled a 5 gallon bucket with ice for me to ice it between dives. But I had to hobble over to the diving board on crutches and set them down, then dive, get out of the pool, pick them up and hobble back over to the ice bucket. It was probably one of the dumbest things I've ever done. I'd do it again. I also came in second by less than one point. Go kick ass Becca! They'll give you crazy looks, but who cares. Nice. Just to be clear, I was not criticising. I've done a similar thing (wear a brace on a hike, take the brace off, climb, put the brace back, hobble to the next climb). But i think it looks more dramatic with a cane or crutches. At one of Alisa's gymnastics meets, one of the girls was competing with a broken toe. OUCH!
I've just been wrapping my ankle with an elastic bandage (Ace bandage in USA, Tensor bandage in Canada). Kicked a little today into ice. Just bought some Russian front points so hopefully I don't have to kick that much harder into plywood.
Good chance I'll have to approach the comp wall with a hiking stick, but I'll probably try to avoid it.

Heh! Hopefully there won't be travel disruptions. Weather-wise, it is not that bad. With VT and Co in your experience list, you will be just fine.
When I lived in Madison, i don't think they even had a climbing gym! I still have a soft spot in my heart for it (Madison). I loved it.
