Ok guys, I might not be able to make it. I hurt my knee climbing about 6 weeks ago and its just been getting worst. I saw a PT the other day and he says I have a small tear in one of the tedons in the back of my knee. I have another attp on the 18th with an ortho so we'll see what he says. But right now it's looking pretty bad. If need be I'll just grab a last minute ticket or something.

Although she hasn't posted anything I think dancingmadlybackwards and her boyfriend are planning on going. I'll drop her a PM and tell her to get her arse in gear and start making plans with you guys.

Climbingspaz!!! whats going on buddy long time no see. How was TX?

Ah man, that sucks! I've been there though (tore my medial ski racing.. twice on the tendon, and once in the center of the knee).. ended up getting orthoscopic surgery. To be honest, it's really not that bad. I couldn't walk for almost three months (knee was locked and I had to wear a immobilizer), but after the operation, I was walking three days later (although, tenatively). A lot of the ski racers I coach/ski with have their knees scoped almost every year, so it's not terrible. I honestly think that the worst part of the whole thing was the physical therapy, and working the leg back with all of the atrophy from not using it. In the future, you'll just have to make sure that you keep you muscle mass up in your leg to lessen the strain on your knees.

Either way, I hope it all works out for you..

Sure.. it's just cleaning up any damaged tissue, to allow range of motion. The more muscle mass you have around the knee, the less strain on it. The only thing you might notice in the future is arthritis, but hey.. they way I figure it, they can already grow it in a dish. So, it's only a matter of time before they can make me bionic.

Yes this is true Chris, and he has a name... DAN is coming.... and my arse is in gear thank you!!

These are my plans thus far:
Dan Spors (who isnt on rc.com but should be... i posted his pic) and Dan Fehler (from A.R. ... midwestslacker), and Mitch (also not on rc.com but his pic is posted) are going to Red Rocks with me... leaving on Jan 3rd or 4th, and getting back 10 days or so later. As you can see, the plans are not finalized, and subject to influence.

Id love to meet up with any of you guys down there, or (if you do decide to drive) to meet up on the way.

Erika, i am sad to hear that you are not climbing for awhile, and even more sad bout your wrist! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO EVER DO THE BOTTLE TRICK IF YOU HAVE AN INJURED WRIST??!?!?! seriously now!!

CRISPY, dude... heal that knee of yours! i want to climb with you!! you rock!!... glad you like the TCU... its nothin for the dude who taught me to climb... even if he does break my drivers seat!

ok thats all for now.

peace, rockstars...

I would love to go to Texas. As of now, though, I am still uncertain of a destination and it looks as if it's lost its luster. It seems that a trip is not going to happen after all. Sorry peeps. Next time, I'll just choose a location and whoever shows up, shows up.

Laters.

I miss you so much, don't worry I'm working the bottel trick! As for the wrist.....yeah it sucks...although it's getting better, I'm working on a climbing trip to CO in Feb to do some ice climbing, only 4 days though. I should be 100% by then. Red Rocks is GREAT climbing have fun I will be thinking of you all.

Mowz...go to Red Rocks!

Chris get better soon nothing worse than an active person getting hurt, heal frist then you can climb better!

Peace

Thanks for the reassurance guys. We'll see what the doc says in a week. But I'd rather not make this trip and then be able to climb this spring/summer/fall/ all the time.

Rach way to get it in gear girl. I know Dan had a name, I just didn't know if he was on rc or not.

Greenspace, I think we met once down in the red, but I didn't know you were you and you didn't know I was me...does that make sense? I saw you at Left Flank. It was raining, and we had the same rope bag, oh wait I don't stalk you.

Ericka, maybe while they're out west, we can sit around get drunk and look at pictures of people climbing out west as we nurse our injuries.

Jen you tell Cole that it he doesn't watch it, he's going to get squishy too.

Well gotta run. Talk to you guys later.

yo chris,

haven't hit texas yet (december 26-28 at reimers near austin, if anyone is interfested, and yes i would like to stay longer, so PM me if you want to head that way over the xmas holidays).

and i heard about this injury shite, and knees are trouble so take it easy. just do a lot of swimming and rehap that bitch yourself and get on rock again ASAP.

and that will get that squishy ass belly of yours tighter when you are ready to rock.

also, if anyone wants to head to smith rock in OR in february (6th-???) holler. i am going to book my trip at the end of this month.

peace,

CF

You know rach the glass head and I were close for a little while, but she cheated on me with Dan, so we're done.

Ericka, I like the idea of going and harassing them. We could make them haul us up, and in exchange they get 'encouragement'

For the record, my vote is that erickaclimbstoo AND quickclips get their gimpin selves out west this Jan. You know you wont have any fun having a pity party for yourselves and anticlimactically breaking bottles all over the place. Seriously now. I will haul the both of you up a pitch anyday. It wont be the same without you. Heck, Ill even bring Artimus (my glass head) along so you can have some fun. Chris, she wanted me to tell you that you were the best she's ever had.

Currently, my plan is to leave on Jan 1st and be back late on the 9th. So far, Dan Spors (monopocketmojo), Dan Fehler (midwestslacker), and Mitch Merwin (almost got a name, but clicked the 13 or under cuz he is a big dork) are makin the journey. Anyways, it is going to be so amazing. If anyone else has their plans set, let me know because it would be great to hook up with you, and chances are, we will all be camping at three mile together anyways. erikaclimbstoo is coming. executive decision. and so is quickclips. (there is a mad pic of him up now  )

peace out rockstars!!!
