Yeh, the VX comp is on Sunday. I think it will be cool just to see and climb with Hans Florine. Make sure to stay for the slideshow, if you compete it is free. I probably won't be able to stay for that. The points have been broken for a couple of years now. I think at one point the admitins decided to basically make them non existant. I believe they schedule days throughout the year where they manually run the points calculating algorithim. Once they do that, your contributions will be reflected into points.

Feb 27th. All the information about ABS is on rockcomps.com, don't worry about clicking on vx.com because it is still the old website and won't tell you anything about the BB '05. http://www.rockcomps.com/rockcomps/comps/event_details.cfm?id=893

Hey everybody Ron- Hey sorry I havent been in touch its been crazy busy with the business school and my trip to Colombia, anyways,im hoping that we can meet up sometime soon, as it stands right now im free every other saturday. Im thinking of going to the chattanooga area for the first half of spring break and doing some climbing, most of the schools down there wont be on break untill the following week so it should be less busy than the red. Anyways let me know if you are interested. p.s. i got a new phone and lost your number Eric

hey eric... i did think you had fallen off the side of the world. you've been missing out, but you can make up for it 8^) sam and i had talk, briefly, about some climbing during spring break. i don't have time off per se, but the wife and kids will be out of town so i could make trips to the red (too far to drive to TN and back during my time off). i will pm my number at home and the fire station. r.r.

Hey guys! I almost forgot about this thread, but good to see the old names still on here. Hey Ron, we had talked about the Red this weekend? You still up for it? I think I am taking Mon and Tue off and may tool around down south for a little while. Also, I may be good for the 26th and 27th, but have a trip for work the next weekend. As for Unlikely, this is the topo I have used, but I'm not convinced of it's accuracy. I'm sure Andy and the local guys know it better than I do: http://poc.purdue.org/.../unlikelywallmap.jpg

Hello fellow hoosiers! I'm from the bloomington area fairly new to climbing but currently climbing v2-v5 ish. I go to Hoosier heights in bloomington about 3 days per week. Hows the bouldering at the red? could i rent a crash pad maybe? i dont have one. Never been, always wanted to go, never did. soon as it gets warm im there.

If you're looking for good bouldering then you may wan to consider checking out So. Ill. The red isn't known for its bouldering, but is an amazing place to climb. There is some bouldering, but not a huge abundance as far as I know.

Hey all, anybody on here keen to do some climbing at Hemlock or Messmore Cliffs. Even better, are there any motivated folks around that'd be keen to develop a new limestone crag on the Ohio River?

Hey all, I'm looking for a partner in the southern Indiana area. It's a shame to let all these cool, midsummer weekends go by without getting some mileage in. I'm keen for trips to the Red, New, or So-Ill/Jackson Falls. And if anyone is keen to check out the Messmore/Hemlock Cliffs/Yellow Birch Ravine area for trad leading or bouldering potential, let me know.

Found some good quality steep bouldering / roofs out in the Hemlock Cliffs area. The rock quality is much higher than that in the canyon at Hemlock, and it's right by the road. Good landings, good height, good features. The only apparent downside is that most of the climbing will be V5 and under. There may be more climbing at Carne's Mill (once it's purchased by the Hoosier National Forest) and at Yellow Birch Ravine. I'm also looking into public access to a roadside limestone quarry with a phenomenal amount of long, steep routes. Email if interested.
