I grew up in NW Indiana, but now live in CO. If any of you folks make it out this way PM me, I"ll climb witcha. Unless you're from Muncie... then I'll drink witcha, BSU 97'.

Have fun folks... and come visit.

KT

If only I had seen this 2 weeks ago! I just got back from CO and did some climbing. It was awsome. I got to play at Garden of the Gods (a little), saw Eleven-Mile Canyon, Climbed at Taylor's Canyon with a local who is an awsome climber, and climbed at the place just above Golden a couple of times. Anyway, I am back and looking to head to the Red some time soon. If anyone is game in the next couple of weeks, let me know.

I'll be busy every other weekend or so. What that means is I can go on some weekends, but I have the option to take days off during the week, too. I was thinking about going somewhere in two weeks. (June 12th or so).

hey easton...

i was thinking about heading to the red for the weekend of the 12th and 13th. i get off at 7 a.m. and would head down then. climb saturday afternoon and sunday till 2 or 3 then head back. if you want to drive over to bloomington, we can share gas to the red. save some coin. sam, andy, eric, shank, mcernie, and traddaddy...what do you say?

I should be good to go on the weekend of the 12th. I am trying to recruit some buddies, but so far all of em have to work. What slackers! Anyway, I am not sure what my travel plans will be but I am planning on being down there. I may be up for a car pool, but I'll let you all know soon.

So Il was pretty good this past weekend. We put a bunch of punk kids up a bunch of easy climbs, no fatalities. I actually trad led a supposed 5.8 (not sure the rating was accurate, but I'll take it). I will be posting a few pics next week, and trying to add some routes to the DB.

Its a sequence... sidepull, balance, sidepull, move up, sidpull, balance, sidepull, move up. Those grooves are bomber.

I'm going to go project "The Stain"... who's with me? :?

RR, The Stain is actually the hardest route at unlikely. I think kevin has it as wisdom lingers. The are lots of mistakes in Rock n Indiana. Most the routes around shoals were done and named long before kevin foy started climbing.

hey powers...

we missed you (and andy, too--if he came down). got to the parking lot at muir valley around noon (indy time).

headed straight to the 5.10 wall...onsighted all three. the one in the middle, bethel, was beautiful. big moves and big holds. small flake broke on the 10c on the right -- forgot the name. went to the tectonics wall. onsighted both. both were stellar. definitely three stars.

headed over to the indy wall. checked out your 12d project. pretty line. looks thin, though, especially below that roof. tried the 10c and had to take a hang. did the 5.8 arete. then took a couple more runs on the 10c. looked for you again on the way out.

only saw a couple guys from lexington all day. beautiful weather. fantastic day. hope to go again and give a go at the 11's on the indy wall. thanks for the info.

i am planning on heading down next weekend. any takers

My buddy Vikas from Nashville went to Unlikely this weekend and thought it was a cool place to climb... Anyhow, I went to King's on Friday and climbed some stellar lines then went to Aztar on Saturday and won $50. The freakin girlfriend won $250 on slot machines?!?! We spent alot of time hanging out together after that...

I'll give you a call tommorrow Tim, my schedule is crazy... I'm mostly climbing during the week.

later,
Andy

this post will make no sense to anyone but andy and myself...but there seems to have been some mess up with the thread and i have left andy's quote for posterity....

i had asked...

In reply to:
who is building what at those two sites in between the parking areas?

and andy, in true hoosier fashion (we need a hillbilly emoticon  ), had responded...

In reply to:
It's going to be a super secret titty bar and bar BQ joint... just like they have here in Indiana!

tim...

do you have a legit answer to the above question or is andy shooting me straight....
:?

but, also, are the owners of muir valley trying to keep it quiet while you and whomever finish developing the area? in the long run, do they expect it to be able to handle heavy traffic. that road is really well maintained but narrow. just curious about long range plans...

anyway, planning on making a weekend trip next week and would love to connect with whomever wants to...

Hey Ron, you heading to Muir this weekend (12th), or RRG? I am wanting to head to RRG if you are still up for it. I am still waiting on a buddy from Ellitsville to let me know if he can go or not, but I would be up for car-pooling. Anyone is welcome.

Redpointron, the 3 cabins being built along the road are by 3 seperate owners, who purchased thier land when Muir Valley was created. Respect thier privacy as much as possible. Drive by slow, wave if you see anyone. An amicable association between them and climbers must be maintained for Muir to be a success! Thankyou, Bruisebrother ( the sheriffs deputy)
