A friend of mine tore his tendon or ligament in his ring finger last year and says he won't do 2 finger holds with it because of the injury, he said one you tear it it is forever screwed. Is this the case? Can it be fixed? Thanks.

It can be fixed through surgery, but he is smart for not using it and straining it anymore, that could damage it even worse. If it is bothering him that much tell him to go see a doctor. spyder

Spyder's right, it can be repaired with sugery - have him see a reputable sports medicine doctor. The ligament will not ever heal on it's own. Usually sugery involves taking a piece of tendon from somewhere that can spare it (tendons suposedly heal but, I can still feel a divot in my kneecap where they took some of mine) and screwing it in place where the ligament used to be.
