Hi all A few years ago I managed to heal a golfers elbow through eccentric training exercises. Effectiveness 100% and costs almost nothing. I (finally) decided to put my method on the web, in the hope that some other rockclimbers might benefit. http://sites.google.com/site/healgolferselbow/

And cue jt512... For the rest of us, you referenced benefits for soccer players with patellar injuries: could you provide links? A quick Google turned up a study on soccer players showing increased injury risk from prophylactic eccentric training and stretching, though another smaller, non-randomized study showed some post-injury benefits from decline squats.

The research I found three years ago was all very new at that time, and the one that really inspired me is the first link on my site, that shows tendon structure normalizing after the eccentric exercise. There is currently nothing else in medical literature (as far as I know) that shows any promise of normalizing tendons with tendinosis. I'm not aware of increased injury risk; I presume it has to do with training at a too high level. I found most of my medical research through http://pubmed.com, but I don't have a link anymore about patella tendon rehabilitation. I'm not a doctor; I'm a rockclimber that managed to cure his own golfers elbow by adapting some state of the art medical research to my own problem. This after all the regular medical paths had failed

Now, about one month after I posted my site online, I've received mails from two people that are getting very positive results, just like I wrote on my site. I'm glad I've helped a few people.

It makes intuitive sense to me that decreased thickness (corresponding to decreased inflammation) and renormalization of structure would indicate healing. However, as this is not something I have specialized knowledge in, is there good prior research that shows those ultrasound findings correlate with long term healing/regain of function/etc?

Since I posted my site online, I've received mail feedback from two people that are already very happy with the first results after two or three weeks (one of them describes his state as euphoric, after years of medical circus and thousands of Euros down the drain). It seems it works for others also :-)
