When rating a troll do you take into account only the question or should you also consider how many people the troll catches. Sorry to ask but I tried searching and it did not help.

In reply to: When rating a troll do you take into account only the question or should you also consider how many people the troll catches. Sorry to ask but I tried searching and it did not help. The question only as it is the basis of the amount of people said troll catches. Like this one, this is not a good troll, but to help a person out I'll answer and hope in the future you'll have something a little more worthy of a troll. Perhaps beating a dead, decaying horse of a subject that has run down the pike seventy or eighty times. These are usually the best offered as you'll not only re-outrage individuals with strong opinions on the subject, but attract the attention of posters that will post things like: "This has been done before." "Do a search, we've only seen this a hundred times." "Boy, could this dead horse be beaten any harder?" Try again.

Actually I was kind of being serious, all i get out of the searches is people calling others trolls. But whatever, it was kind of a dumb thing to ask, I am just bored at work.

The optimum troll goes on for at least five pages and the thread originator(the troll) only makes the initial post.

bumblie said it best. I also think that the troll scale should be open ended. I mean, obviously, as trolling techniques and methods become more fine tuned, a new generation of trollers is going to build upon foundations set by originators. T-15... does it exist? and is it possible without chemical enhancement?

I worry about faux trolls skewing the ratings. Somebody starts a stupid thread and when they see the responses they contend they were trolling. There should be a troll registry wherein trolls can register an intent to troll. This would provide verification before grading.

In reply to: In reply to: The T scale as originally proposed by Climber49er is indeed open ended. is it allowed to quote oneself? Only if they are truly great and this greatness is self-evident. Rock stars and pro athletes are known to refer to themselves in the third person. The question is does Climber49er merit that status?
