It seems like only yesterday that I had a whole Grade V haul bag filled with gigantic mutant cams. But now? I only have two 9" monsters left.
Anybody want to buy a very nice custom cam that fits from 5.5" to 9"? I have one with aluminum cams and one with magnesium. I'm selling these to get material and better equipment to make more. $150.00 each. The magnesium unit was slightly used for body-weight aid over a two week period. No falls, or hauling pigs on it. The aluminum unit has never been placed.
I also have two 7" custom cams, but why would you buy those when the WC #6 is that big?

$100 and shipping will get you a Camalot #5 or a WC #6 from a discount house. I am selling a BIG #9 CAM, not a #5 or #6.
These items are very high quality, as the people who have bought and/or used them will tell you. They break in excess of 20 kN, and yes, they are heavy: about 900 grams.
They are 100% aluminum (magnesium cams for one of them) and stainless steel.
I used cams just like these to slay the monster offwidths of the Excalibur. They were more stable and less prone to walking than the junk Camalot #5s you find at the mountain shop.
If you need a big piece like this, you won't find it anywhere else.

So, with the magnesium unit, I get the added bonus of shaving off slivers to start fires. Aluminum unit... lighter weight? Beefier?
I'm beginning to seriously consider this. Someone bop me in the head already.

The magnesium one is a little lighter than the aluminum one. I don't know if you can start a fire by scratching slivers off or not. The cam thickness is the same (1/4") for both of them.

WOW....never seen such a large cam....guess if I had one I could stop doing the head jamb...in the crack...that I so love doing...lol...

I was Tom's partner on our ascent of the Wide Crack Horror Show known as Excalibur on the SW face of El Cap, and I can certainly vouch for the quality of Tom's Valley Giants!
These things are superbly crafted, handle beautifully, and work great! You would never guess that they were not commercially manufactured. Not only is Tom a brilliant engineer, but he is also a very good machinist.
[Tom's Big Wall Clusterf*ck Management Skills initially left something to be desired, but after listening to me rant for ten days - "Just ZIP it up! Two cordalettes! Two hauling devices! The tops of the two haul lines! Some water! NOW!" - he finally began to "get it".....]
I am glad to see that these giant cams are selling as well as they are, because they sure deserve to!
Tom's cams are highly recommended by Dr. Piton.
