First time I climbed here it was called the Boulder Farm and it was local knowledge only. Couple years later i see it in the mags being called the Happy/Sad boulders.

Just wondering if anyone knew the whole story of the development of the area, it's obviously changed a lot since the mid 90's.

More problems, higher numbers but back in the day we used to hang out and boulder naked & not see anyone for days.

What's the scoop?

Climbed there regularly in the mid - 80's mostly at the sad boulders. I think they were "discvovered" by a guy named "nojob". Upon hearing that I had climbed there before he, he asked me if I wanted to re-name them. "Naw" I replied" It's just a bunch of boulders".

Another interesting note: We would see these boulders spay painted with an X. We would return and they would be gone. Someone was mining the boulders for decorative purposes.
