Last year I got some new shoes right before my trip to Potrero. They were fine for the entire trip till New Years eve. We did 6 pitches that day and I did three consecutively, one 2nd and then linked two leads together. At the end of the day my achillies was very sore and I was challenged to climb the next day. The drawstring around my heel seems to bite too hard. I have not taken an extensive break yet and the injury seemed to linger. Last weekend it got aggrivated again and swelled a minor amount causing me some concern. Has anyone ever had a major achillies injury from shoes? Does anyone know how I might determine if I have sustained a injury or if it is just irritated? I just hate to go to the Dr. for him to tell me to wear sandals for a few weeks and avoid straining it. Any advice is appreciated.
