Its not just girls who have undies dilemas. I find boxers really annoying as when you put your harness on you have to reach down and push your boxer legs down under the leg loops. Briefs might end up wedging as pointed out here. I've considered a jockstrap but not tried one yet.
Never thoughy about a thong though. I think that must be an aquired feeling you ladies either prefer or you don't.

Truly this isn't just a question for females. For some reason I've just recalled that I used to have a couple of thongs that I used exclusively for climbing. More comfortable than a jock strap but with the same benefits of "consolidation" and no bunching. If I recall I got them at Vic Secret. Not sure if they still carry men's wear though. I guess if there are any male dancers in the audience they could chime in with a source. www.bananahammock.com?
Men's underwear sucks from a performance stanpoint. Briefs and boxers alike bunch and have way too many uncomfortable seams. I sense a market opportunity. Everytime I see a woman's thong with those delicate bands and light material, I'm outraged that I have to walk around with a 1 inch wide band of elastic abrading my tender loins.
Christ I'm bored.

I use to climb wearing a thong, now I jst clip my panties on the outside of my harness so that I can retreive them quickly for setting up Z pulley systems. Othertimes I get so annoyed that people aren't paying attention to me when I am leading something extreme, that I wear my thong on my head to get everyone focused on me.

For you people who haven't yet caught on, the thong is the new bandana. It is the ventilated bandana! Nice and stretchy, it fits perfectly over your head, but has the added bonus of plentiful ventilation for those scorching hot summer days. Not only this, but it makes heads turn and will ensure you are the talk of the campsite. If you are not yet sporting a thong-bandana, I suggest you run out and get one now!

How about a harness with a built in thong? Just take off your street clothes, jump into the "tharness" and you are golden. Male/Female versions available.

Interesting idea.... you might be onto a whole new climbing accessory.
Of course this would be strictly a sport-climbing harness...
Can you imagine the butt-burn one would get if one found oneself wedged into an offwidth in a tharness? It would not be pretty...

I am not a girl and have never worn a thong but my gf wears thongs all the time... she says they are really comferitable she can't really feel em. And she climbs in em too.
