I've only slacklined 5 or so times, and I now have my own webbing so I can practice more often. I can walk about 20 feet or so, and yesterday I made my first turn-around, walking the 20 feet, then turning around and walking another 20 feet. How long does it take to get better? How fast do you learn? I guess only time will tell.
Oh, by the way, the guy that showed me how to set up the tightening system did it wrong, he struggled to get the webbing underneath the tightening biners. He wriggled and muscled it through. I figured out all you need to do is place it underneath the webbing while UN-tensioned, (with slack), then pull as hard as you can to make the slack line taught. Just didn't want anyone else to make this mistake.

I would say if you are turning around after 5 times you are doing pretty good!! Try some one legged tricks or surfing.

Getting your own line up in the yard is the most important thing to learn faster. You can easily be doing flips in a few months if you work it. ;) It's all in the practice...

We just set up a line at my school today, and after a month and a half of not slacking, I was rusty. I learned how to slack at RRRendezvous back in March, and since I live in cold Minnesota, it's tough to set up a line in the snow. xD
We got one set up today, and I think I played around on it for a good 4 or 5 hours.
:D Got to the end and started to work the turn. I just need to get that turn down and I'll be good. :D
I also just bought some materials to set up my own line at home. I can't wait for it to come in the mail. I don't care if I have to set it up in the rain, I'm going to do it. :D
