1. Epinephrine - the mileage alone I think would be worth it 2. Supercrack - come on...you know you wanna, too 3. Malevolence - Seneca Rocks 4. Equinox - oooohhh yeah 5. An un-named 18 ft roof crack in Harpers Ferry directly underneath Jefferson Rock. I think it's off limits since the vandalization, though. Bryan

not sure how many of these I'll get done in the near future... 1. All the "Reality" roof cracks, minus Arkansas Reality. that would be a) Desperate Reality, Oklahoma b) Desert Reality, Red Rocks c) Seperate Reality, Yosemite 2. Astroman, Yosemite 3. Grand Wall, Squamish 4. Mushroom Roof, Hueco Tanks 5. Cloud Tower, Red Rocks 6. Sendero Luminoso, Potrero Chico, Mexico 7. everything at Indian Creek that I've not yet done, starting with King Cat and, finally, in the very distant future, 8. Moonlight Buttress, Zion (free)

I am a devout anti-hitlistist. What purpose (other than computer-nerd list-making satisfaction) do these hit lists serve? Do you carry the list with you where ever you go in case you stumble upon one of your targets? Sleep with it beneath your pillow? What gives? Now that you have this list, what are you going to do with it? Lists! Don't get me started on LISTS!!!111 Did you ever do a spreadsheet of all commercial production cam weights and expansion ranges in order to figure out which brands you will buy if they ever come on sale? Do your big wall checklists have macros, lol??? Come on, admit it. Your hitlists have macros, don't they? Hehe. And all that shit. DMT

In reply to: I am a devout anti-hitlistist. Ah yes, the next great issue in climbing, to ticklist or not to ticklist. Surely this will inspire the same sort of heated debate as bolt wars, sport vs trad, etc.

I don't know about hitlist but writing your goals down with a timeline is a key to accomplishing goals. They should be realistic and if needed include short term goals to help prepare you for accomplishing your long term goals. As for me "Immaculate" 12a @ echo in the Santa Monicas. Cheers joseph_y

DMT Whoa I hate this idea...my tick list is what gets me to the gym in this shitty PA weather...its what makes me run ...I hate running... It drives me to work harder and eat healthier....wow I can't think of anythinng better than having a goal that I am going to have to work hard to achieve in a good style

I do ticklists, but usually only right before the weekend. And I think it's important to be flexible. I won't pass up a stunning line that catches my eye for something I wrote down on a scrap of paper two days ago.

In reply to: Did you ever do a spreadsheet..... Come on, admit it. Your hitlists have macros, don't they? Pfffft -- spreadsheet, schmedsheet -- Excel is for amateurs. The real lists are done by custom programs designed to run on Crays. I'm talking about a tangled web of code laid down by 2-pocket-protector, coke-bottle-glasses nerds whose hormones were places on hold during the Nixon administration. The kind of program that sucks the city power grid dry for a 7 block radius every time it runs. Intel pente-, octa-, deca- whatever need not apply. Shoot, the data base for my tick list contains every route at every crag in North America (we're working on Europe), complete with: - move-by-move beta, adjusted for climbers' heights - detailed topos, with pitch lengths calculated to the nearest 6.35mm (1/4") - satellite reconnaissance photos - gear selection, including distance between placements and racking order of pro - GPS coordinates, including altitude - 3-D approach simulations - sunrise and sunset times for each day of the year, including times the rock is in the sun and the sun's angle (we're working on 5-year weather forecasts to assist in proper clothing selection to make the most of photo ops) - spray factor estimates, calculated on actual time to complete the route But we have run into a few challenges to the program / system: - Dragging the 32" high-res LCD monitor up the route to review the detailed beta is somewhat cumbersome. - We are trying to develop alternative power supplies to run the remote computer terminal. Batteries are convenient, but they are heavy and don't last all that long. Power cords are useful as emergency haul lines, but they tend to hang up in cracks. And the generators are noisy. - The LCD monitor tends to distract other climbers on nearby routes. Only last week a guy almost cratered from 20' up -- he missed a clip when this year's Victoria's Secret fashion show video inadvertantly appeared on the screen. I just don't understand how this video keeps coming up. So, the bottom line -- what's on my list? I'll have to get back to you. First, I must send the pink-taped 5.1 route in our gym. As soon as I get it dialed in on TR, I'm headin' outside, baby!

A onsight of Carpe Diem @ Willamson this season. But since I have the footwork of an ox, then a redpoint would suffice. :D Maybe my first .12.
