Help a Fellow Climber and Great Guy
Hey rc.comers, I want to tell you about a great event that is happening July 15th in Colorado. Please "bump" this to help us promote this event.
Here's the story:
On May 7th, Glenwood Springs resident Kurt Birkenmeier suffered serious head injuries in a climbing accident at Red Rocks. In the fall, Kurt fractured his skull, lost his hearing in one ear, and lost his senses of taste and smell. Two helicopter rides, five days in intensive care, and ensuing medical care have left him with enormous medical costs. Friends and fellow locals have gathered together to organize a spectacular fundraising event.
On Friday, July 15 the CRMS barn in Carbondale, CO will host a slideshow by two of the world's best rock climbers, the husband and wife duo, Tommy Caldwell and Beth Rodden. A silent auction and gear raffle will accompany the show. There are thousands of dollars of prizes to be had! Doors open at 7 and slideshow begins at 8. $5 raffle tickets and $10 donation recommended at the door. For more information call Dave at 970-928-8955.
Also, join us afterwards for music at the Black Nugget featuring Coyote Gospel with $5 cover charge.
There is also an account set up in Kurt's name at any Alpine Bank.
Please come support this event. There's a ton of great schwag. Kurt is a super cool guy and a dedicated climber. This has been a life changing incident. He is recovering and would love to have your support.
Tommy and Beth have been awesome in helping make this an attractive event. A long list of companies and businesses have been generous in their support.
Make a weekend out of it. Carbondale is 15 minutes from Glenwood Springs and 30 minutes from Aspen. There is a ton of great climbing, biking, and hiking in the area. Rifle and Independence Pass are less than an hour and the summer is the perfect time to visit.

This event will be a great time. Beth and Tommy put on a great show and this is for a great cause too. When a community rallies together for an individual they might not even know, its like a family. Sure, you might climb walls or you might boulder, but we are all climbers looking, searching, finding, dreaming and moving in a vertical reality. the whole point of a fund raiser is to make money not spend money
thank for your inconsiderate advice. the whole point of bumping is to let people know. this is a good cause and there will be much reinbersment for attendeis not to mention alot of fun if i have offended you i apoligize

I do not know beth or tommy however they have been nice enough to do this. I'm assuming you dont understand. know wonder you cant find partners. I too wonder about people who cant support a good cause and have a good time with out being a smart alleck
