Just came back from securing a guy's head while waiting for the paramedics because he just was lowered off the end of his rope. Fell at least 30 feet, hit twice - both times with his head - before hitting the creek. Sheered a lot of the skin over the left side of his forehead but is alive because he wore a helmet. That helmet was not as crushed from the impact as I thought it would from a fall like this. Hurt elsewhere but lost a ton of blood, just gushing out and completely covered the front of him and his belayer that was holding him by the time our group arrived. Heard the screams and thought a rock had fallen and hit someone. He was coptered out.

His 8-year daughter saw the whole thing...

They were doing a 30 metre route lowering with a 55 metre rope - either they didn't check the guide or thought the rope was long enough. No knots at the end of the belayer's side and the rope went through the belay device.
