Hello, I was wondering about pagan/wiccan climbers out there. Are there any sort of pre climb rituals you do that seem to help you climb better? I tried calling Artimis yesterday but it was out side of the circle and I did not have something blessed by the power of the south and I did not feel very energy. Has anything else worked for anyone else? Climb on Chris

I'm a pagan/Wiccan. Blessed Be Chris!, I've never performed a pre-climb ritual. I do meditate alot. Before a climb meditate about it. Imagine a safe and grand send, remember the power of positive thought!. You can also wear a charm for protection and or strength. Hope this helps. Tim

Before a climb I usually stick peanut butter up my nostrils and in my ears with my left hand while at the same time making counter-clockwise swirls just inside my anus with my right hand's index finger. I usually fall though so I'm thinking about switching to clockwise swirls, hope this helps!

When someone makes a religious post asking about other religious climbers, let's show some respect. Last time someone posted about Christian climbers, everyone jumped on them (including me). Let's not make the same mistake and let's show respect for religious climbers. If you don't share their religion, don't make offensive remarks. If you don't agree, then start a polite PM session with them. I want the person who made this post to know I respect their right to make it. I do not feel the need to insult their intellegence. Thanks for letting me vent. GT

my reply was just a play on their wording. the OP thought it was funny It had nothing to do with their religion. They could be slaughtering goats at the crag for all I care! the previous statement in no way was meant to be offensive to any religion. Established or otherwise Now, if I said something along the line of: "My God says you savage heathens will be damned for eternity, burning in Hell. " well I guess that could be a little offensive to someone...

In reply to: C'mon, wicca is a religion too. Chill. Wicca is a religion, too, one practiced by a couple of friends of mine, but just because you're talking about religion doesn't mean you can't say dumb shit. I refer you to the OP's profile if you have any questions.

In reply to: Along the same lines has anyone come up with the correct feng shui method for racking? :) ROFLMAO :) Also Pagan, no rituals but the meditation helps clear the mind and focus on the screaming-barfy type climbs

Are you serious? Do you think your co-opted spirituality makes you special and you want everyone to know that. All I can say is...WTF

pagan climbers ? no way !!! :) seriously though, and this isn't really a Pagan thing per se - I've been playing around with a technique that I picked up from some old poster on meditation that showed meridians/energy bands that leave the hands and feet, just doing a little creative visualization of these connecting to the rock and helping me stick when I might not otherwise actually seems to help.
