Everytime I went to HP40 it was always $8 flat. That included you camping fee. It must be more expensive cuz of the comp.

$50 to compete, $20 to spectate. They seemed pretty adamant this year about spectators NOT being able to climb at all. I'm going up Sunday morning after the comp to climb for $3... Should be a good time--last year was awesome, but I'm just not into it this year due to all the sandbagging.

alright after looking at all the sick arse lines at this place, i've gotta go, thing is there saying no regualr climbing on the day of the comp -sat- so my ques is, roughly (for those of u whom have done this before) how long do u think the comp will last (check in is at f* 7am so its gotta begin by the latest 8:30), what would be the chance that i could climb on some boulders that they didnt have problems set up on? HP40 site says there will be a competition map so im thinking that they've got a designated set, they cant just say that all the boulders are theres only for that day can they?... seems like i could shrink off to the back somewhere and climb... also any one coming from Ga, ive got class until 2 on Fri, and if i come wanna get there sort of early (its 5 hrs away from Statesboro) so i can climb/check the place out but it may be dark by then. If anyone wants to carpool, i'd be willing to give a ride, bum one (throw down gas money) pm me if interested -benny

Irish and I are going...in fact we are leaving in 2 hours. Yeah for 10 hour drives...can't wait! As far as the comp goes, well I don't really care. I just want to have fun and see some old friends.

At least for this comp, you can just roll out of your tent and go. No messing with buses, or U-hauls for your crash pad. Get up and go! I'm a fan. We're heading up there Thursday night, check out everything all day Friday, get our spectating friends on the rocks then. I'm stoked. We're bringing a few first-trippers with us. Is it Friday yet?

Will be the ones rolling in super late Friday night, drinking to excess Saturday night, and attempting to boulder again Sunday, even though the odds of actually having the skin left to boulder Sunday are pretty small.

I'm going to do up a trip report hopefully sometime tonight. Got lots of sweet pics. It was AWESOME!!!! Definately going back. First time at HP, 1st comp. Forgot to write stuff down and turn my score sheet in  , but I had a blast and that's why I went in the first place  Met some really magnificent people, saw some badass climbing, did some fantabulous climbs, ate some great food, all in all, I'd say it's a close tie for the best time I've had on a climbing trip!

Im not sure how it happened, but there was a group of crazy pirates running around. I figured pirates were more apt to stay near the water, but I guess the waves were getting to them. Either that, or they were trying to find a cure for their scurvy. These crazy pirates brought a magical juice from their far away land in a giant metal container. One of them even carried this magical juice on his back in a smaller container. After enjoying this magical juice for a couple of hrs, they initiated me into their clan with an amazing ritual. We called this "Extreme Hammock Twirling." Many lives were lost, or injured. Hopefully, the families will be consoled as these people gave their lives for an honorable cause. As an initiation ritual they shared their poetry with us, which I will share with you as well, in hopes that you can appreciate these magnanamous beings. Roses are Red, Winter is Chilly, So lube up you flaps, 'cause here come me Willy. Im not exactly sure what it is derived from, but hopefully our scholars can translate it. I think it has something to do with wishing luck on a successful voyage. I thank all who have read this, and I hope all who encounter these pirates can appreciate this story. Good night.

So that's the beta for Spirit! Seriously though, is it sad that I recognize most of those problems from just a weekend? I guess I need to read the tutorial on how to post pics in a forum b/c I think I've got a few pretty cool ones, and a 6 second video of Mike running up Millipede. Is there anywhere on this site to post short vids, or somewhere free that I could do that? --Ben

that woman is beautiful, but i see girls like that everyday, except they dont climb...anyone catch where she was from? and wtf is she holding on to in the pic with her face... at that angle it doesnt seem like u could use ur legs alone to hold u up, and it looks like the only hold she has is that sloper which looks like she is just resting her hand on... climbn like an antalope, feeling da groove~ I wish i had been there, f* climbing, i would have been stumbling around drunk with my guitar, a tall boy, and a giant grin, playing yall my poor attempts at WP ha comps.....

What is up my brotherhood?!? :robert: Nice pics wes. So I'm gonna type up a TR in this thread, but I have to get my ace to work right now. Here is a sweet pic though http://i14.photobucket.com/...040/Mikegetsdown.jpg This crazy cat was spankin it and shakin those hips like they were going out of style! Good times, good times, the Floridian Pirates have returned to warmer waters, whilst Dread Pirate Dani and I freeze our asses off in cooler climates. Whose idea was it to plunder in a lake???
