I top roped my first 5.10c in the gym on Thursday, July 1, 2004 - only my 52nd day of climbing (only counting days I actually climbed) since picking it back up after a couple years at college. Anybody have the contact info for the editors at Rock & Ice? I think I might be due for an article and photo op

I led my first 11 in the gym after a little over a year on the rope. Was pretty stoked despite being told ahead of time that the route was at most a 10a for a guy my height (6'3''). Doesn't matter to me though, I have a blast every time I tie in and thats all that matters (although having someone rate a 10a an 11 is a huge ego booster especially if your a newb from the midwest!!! (to be perfectly honest I then floundered my way up a 10 on my next climb.) Here's to improvement (glasses clanking)

In reply to: 5 years to climb a 5.10? I took the 15 years I have been climbing and divided it by 3... so 1810 is just an estimate.

It took me a few years before I climbed a 5.10  But then, when I started climbing, there wasn't such a thing as a 5.10! 5.9 was the top. The first 10 I did was an F10. At Joshua Tree National Monument. :) Cosmiccragsman
