OK, I've searched the other forums on rope rugs, and found several tips and some good patterns, but how do you fasten the ends together? I used a flat knot pattern for a 50m 11mm rope that is about 10-12 years old, so I would like to be able to hide the ends, however I fasten them. Is it better to cut the ends and melt them together, hoping they don't pull apart? Or should I use some sort of knot? Knots seem too bulky, but maybe I'm overlooking something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (BTW, feel free to move this thread, I didn't know where else to put it)

get some clear fishing line, or dental floss and a carpet needle. Whip the ends down with that.

I've taken super glue and saturated the fibers on the end of the accessory cord before cutting it. It comes out with a pretty good finished look. It should work for a rope.
