For a paper im writing:

Why do you do it and whats different about walking a highline?
Do you feel fear on the line?
If yes, how or what do you do to keep calm?
What else do you feel while walking a highline?
Anything else ya wanna say?

Why do you do it and whats different about walking a highline?

Because it's rad. Highlining is 90% mental for me, although it can be pretty brutal on the body if you're taking multiple falls.

Do you feel fear on the line?

On longer lines I get the jitters at first.

If yes, how or what do you do to keep calm?

I force myself out on the line and take some falls. After that I calm down and can focus on the walking.

What else do you feel while walking a highline?

It's kinda euphoric.

Anything else ya wanna say?

Highlining is dependent on rigging therefor has the potential of being extremely dangerous. If you don't know what you're doing get a mentor.

Why do you do it and whats different about walking a highline?

I do it because it's more intense than just about anything else I can do. It's mind blowing, in the most literal sense of the word.

Do you feel fear on the line?

Sometimes. Especially when first starting highlining, and less so as I walk more.

If yes, how or what do you do to keep calm?

Hum, whistle, sing, get some music going in my head while walking. Smoothes out the jitters and helps me send.

What else do you feel while walking a highline?

When you send, you have broken down your mental barriers and have complete control. It's the purest form of freedom. You can do anything.

Anything else ya wanna say?

I'll second Larry. Please don't even think about trying it without someone experienced to show you how. But likewise, if you ever get a chance, don't miss it or you'll kill yourself later thinking about it. Just get out and AT LEAST take some falls so you can go home happy.
