Our memorial weekend plans for the Enchanted Tower were canceled due to fire closure, so we stayed close to home: Three days at Jacks Canyon and the Pit, with a 'rest' day in between at Paradise Forks. No photos of the Forks, sadly, but here are some highlights from the limestone days, starting at Jacks Canyon:

Crack Dealer (5.11a/b), Casino Wall

Chris on Hand Job (5.12a) Main Wall

Hollie on Sixshooter (5.12a), Crackerjack

Chris on Crack Dealer (5.11a/b), Casino

Rick on Tales From the Grypt (5.11c), Main Wall

Some additional photos on the same roll of film from earlier in the spring of Charlie and Rick on Jacks In Hole (5.11c/d), Crackerjack:

After beating up our fingertips for a couple of days at Jacks, we spent a fine day at the Forks on moderate hand and finger cracks. Barely able to lift our arms over our heads, we finished up at the Pit:

Rick on the upper bulge of the Abyss (5.11b)

John on the Joker (5.12c/d)

Finally, a montage of John on Don't Feed the Agave (5.11c)

yeah, some of it's a little overbolted, but it's like puttin plenty of pro in on the crux of a trad climb i guess (assuming we're actually seein the crux here). plus the fact that limestone doesn't like trad gear (it doesn't hold too well) cld have sumthin to do wit it.

Yeah... makes me wanna move back to Flagstaff.. ahhh... the cracks of Oak Creek, the bolts (yes, they ARE close and I challenge you to skip any of them) of Le Pit and Jacks.... the undiscovered area I bolted in... oh, never mind... but there are miles of Limestone cliffbands beyond Hayden, up in the cool mountains around Chevelon canyon... and then there's the S end of Devil's Canyon.... the towers of the Upper Sedona Plateau... The cold beer and hot waitstaff of Alpine Pizza...

Lord, I miss the desert SW.... Enjoy!!!

Looks like a nice place to climb
Looks over bolted too, but looks are deceiving.
